Organic vs Non Organic



From what I understand, the Organic "label" can be slapped on anything as a selling point.

The best way to ensure you aren't ingesting any non-organic elements is to know where your food is coming from.

I get all my beef and (raw) milk from an organic dairy farm up the street, and the difference in quality is astonishing. I also get produce from local vendors.

Yes, it's almost certainly better for you. But more importantly, for me, is that I'm supporting my local community/economy.

One would think that a media circus would have ensued, but little was mentioned about Bruce Edwards Ivins in the US press.

Add to this Larry Silverstein admitting in the interview that they decided to "pull" WTC 7 and BBC reporting building collapse while it is still standing on a background and you get a nice ground for a conspiracy theory.

This is the one thing that always bothered me, and I've never heard a good explanation of it. I know they investigated it, but that is just too much of a coincidence.
 
seriously though, buy some of your food local. You will be amazed how much better the animal products taste (milk, chicken, beef, etc).
 
There is so much Bullshit surrounding 9/11 - something is up.

I don't want to get into a 9/11 debate -there are bigger powers at work here.

I know that on 9/11 I heard a radio report that the Air Force shot down a plane- that report is nowhere now.

And the fact a Boeing plance crashed into the pentagon - ha ! more BS

Missing Boeing Jet - read more about this - "rumors" the airforce offloaded people from the hijacked flights.

Fall of the republic - There are greater powers at work here- We live in a society created by money - who creates money? - The FED (a private bank in the U.S) that's roots tie back to England and Anglo Saxon Rule
 
well for me i use organic only because i decided to go green after the hurican disaster i dont want global warming to cause us to be under over 100 feets of the ocean when the polar caps dry up. also organic grown food is healther for people with no pestisides.
 
what you call "organic" is called food. everything else is just a fucking imitation. the first time I heard about peanut butter allergy was after I immigrated to Canada, back in my country I've never heard of it. Here it's like everyone has some kind of allergy -- milk, eggs, latex, you name it. I think it comes from all the shit most people call food here. So many chemicals are used to produce it.

Jam my grandma used to make was made of berries and sugar. That's it, just two ingredients, you don't need anything else in there. Now go and read the label for any jam in a supermarket. Go figure why do they have to put that crap in there.
 
Who cares if it's organic or non-organic - our civilization and culture is that of the fast food diet - if you are opting to cook yourself and your kids some real food instead of grabbing empty fat filled fast food, you're on the right path.

If you get to the point, when you are no longer cramming nothing but empty calories down your pie hole, then yes, you can probably make a moral decision to buy free run eggs, or support local farmers.

That video was pretty funny, but it was entertainment. I saw a lot of logic holes in that production, so I wouldn't go changing my mind on organic vs non organic just because of Penn & Teller.

For the record, I like Penn & Teller, and I'm not an organic food sympathizer, but I will sometimes buy organic food (fruits/veggies with no hard rind).

I do notice though that organic strawberries are much less tasty than non organic strawberries, and they rot a lot quicker.


I'm in the midst of reading "In Defense of Food: An Eaters Manifesto" and there are some really interesting things in there that he talks about.

He says that there's no such thing as good food or bad food - there's only food or not food. He further goes into talking about all the lobbyists and government recommendations that are purely there to make profit, at the expense of the general health of the population - whether they were aware or not at the time.

It's a great read, but it's more geared towards the history of the food industry, how we got where we are today as an unhealthy society, and what you can do for your family to eat for a healthy life - I don't think he's pushing "organic" food yet (haven't finished).
