Is This Russian Trying To Fuck Me Over?

Would a trustworthy company hire some guy via craigslist because they are unable to get something ridiculousely easy like international shipping arranged?

There is always a good way to find out if something is legit: Think of the time needed to do the job you are offered, calculate what you'd get per hour of work. Labelling requires zero qualification, so compare to other jobs no special skills are needed for. If the payment is 10x what frying burger would make you, you know it must be a scam.

Hopefully you're just a sly troll- otherwise you're the stupidest 13 year old that ever lived, and should be retroactively aborted so as to not pollute the gene pool.

OP, You're the guy we all market to. Thanks for keeping food on the table

this 100% lol

The Employment Agreement says clothing, electronics, and computer technology. I started this thread because I know nothing happens in Russia without organized crime having a say-so, so I suppose I'm playing with fire.

Care to expound on that? Everyone's saying it's a bad idea without clearly stating why. Does anyone have any actual experience with this type of scheme?

I might just go ahead and do it. I'm not risking any money, if they don't pay me after a month I'll just stop and move on. I suppose this thread was more to make sure I can't be held liable legally in case something's wrong. I have an email from their rep stating clearly that it's legal, I don't open anything, and I don't see how I can be held responsible at all.

^^ bhahahah pls pls pls go ahead and do it! pls pls pls !! and then come back and post pics of what you get and then come back again to post when you get arrested or interrogated LOL.

Here in Australia, USA remailers are big business. Our dollar is around parity, and many, many people make use of that by shopping on USA sites - not all of which ship to Australia. So don't think that these remailer companies are necessarily dodgy, although I would be wary of any Russian business :P .

If you are serious about remailing as a job, you might consider setting up one that deals with Australian customers. Demand is looking strong, and recent media attention on the issue will likely only increase it. Check PriceUSA and addy.us for USA-AUS remailers.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

Nevermind, I was just joking... If you really are a hard worker I can probably hook you up with a similiar job with a bit of a better pay, I'll pm you in a couple of days.

Appreciate it, thanks.

sure - go ahead and mail out stuff critical to america's dominance in technology and security while strengthening other countries. anything illegal will probably end up in China anyway where they will just rip it off and sell it back to you paid for on your credit card which they own.

Dear Sir,

Confidential Business Proposal

Having consulted with my colleagues and based on the information gathered from the Nigerian Chambers Of Commerce And Industry, I have the privilege to request your assistance to transfer the sum of $47,500,000.00 (forty seven million, five hundred thousand United States dollars) into your accounts. The above sum resulted from an over-invoiced contract, executed, commissioned and paid for about five years (5) ago by a foreign contractor. This action was however intentional and since then the fund has been in a suspense account at The Central Bank Of Nigeria Apex Bank.

We are now ready to transfer the fund overseas and that is where you come in. It is important to inform you that as civil servants, we are forbidden to operate a foreign account; that is why we require your assistance. The total sum will be shared as follows: 70% for us, 25% for you and 5% for local and international expenses incidental to the transfer.

The transfer is risk free on both sides. I am an accountant with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). If you find this proposal acceptable, we shall require the following documents:

(a) your banker's name, telephone, account and fax numbers.

(b) your private telephone and fax numbers —for confidentiality and easy communication.

(c) your letter-headed paper stamped and signed.

Alternatively we will furnish you with the text of what to type into your letter-headed paper, along with a breakdown explaining, comprehensively what we require of you. The business will take us thirty (30) working days to accomplish.

Please reply urgently.

Best regards

tjdaz

Oh my pleasure.. don't forget to make your christmas list early this year, Santa's very busy up there in the ol' north pole. Cheers

Oh, was this sarcastic? My bad then, I thought you were being sincere.

To some of the others who are apparently hyperventilating, the question wasn't really is it sketchy as much as it was how much legal trouble could I get into. I don't doubt that there could be some legit remailers in Russia, but it's so dominated by the Mafia that chances are slim. As someone here said, I'd be better off doing something with a Western country.

I get the feeling some of you guys are more obsessed with trying to perpetuate the Wickedfire "ZOMG lol tard tard lol" meme than providing any real help. I don't feel bad at all for trying to get money to finance my IM ventures; I would bet the majority of those sneering are the ones making "I just made $.69 on Adsense" posts on BHW.

But anyways, thanks to those who answered sincerely, however few those were.

"and everyone knows nobody does business in Russia unless they're the Mafia or have the Mafia's consent. "

are you retard or what ? what exactly was fishy except their location ?

first of all I like how all US people like to play with words, from what I understand you ship to this russian same goods as your motherfucking superlegal US company (just read stories on this forum how many people not to be paid by them in case of CPA networks, US people btw) will ship to any US person right ? So what is illegal except your own LOCAL company ? For sure it all verifiable even before you, cause you indeed get some electronic and not AK-47.

The dude from Vladivostok may also ask you to lower the price or put it like it's present or so (it will be very rare and up to you) in order to avoid abnormally high import taxes. Some do it, some no. Yes, Iphone or whatever shit you are using costs double in Russia/Ukraine.

People buy from US a lot cause it's cheaper even with import taxes. Cause we will not pay local store margin. And in Vladivostok it's even higher than in Moscow, cause less competition and everyone wants some money.

If you will not send the dude his electronics...well, where is my AK-47 ??!!
