I don't about you guys, but I miss this kinda shit. I think that to even find anything that compares to it these days you have to really dig for it.

After 2002 or so almost nothing has been worth listening to. I'm perfectly aware I'm turning into one of those old dudes who still listens to the same shit they did when they were in uni. And I'm cool with that.

I consumed more music than any other time during the 90's, but really not many of the artists that I use to like or even love held up very well. And if they are still releasing albums today they're just worse. Eh Incubus didn't age too badly, and I'll admit the deftones newest album isn't terrible.

I hate soundgarden btw lol.

90's was def >80's

But I'm still diggin todays tune's as well. Guess that means I'm still cool, right? ....RIGHT???

I'll admit that during the 90's I liked everyone except Soundgarden. I think the overplaying of the Black Hole Sun video on MTV had a lot to do with it.

Of course as we get older we realize the mistakes we made in our youth and now I'd put them in my top 5.

Words you say never seem
To live up to the ones inside your head
The lives we make never seem
To ever get us anywhere but dead

90's

How can you have a discussion about important 90's music without mentioning Punk Rock. before NOFX, Lagwagon, Vandals, Greenday, etc... mohawks were only cool in Europe. It was sad when the whole thing commercialized and is dead now, but maybe with the resurgence of free online music some kids will make some decent sh!t someday again.

70s were better:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9K-Zv_pTfk"]YouTube - Led Zeppelin - Achilles Last Stand (LA 1977)[/ame]

Early 80s rock had its moments, too:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gW4LQN1Bx1Q"]YouTube - Slow & Easy - Whitesnake[/ame]

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFvz1JQAPgQ]YouTube - Jawbox - Savory[/ame]

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwRfAceTJt4]YouTube - Pulp - Underwear[/ame]

the first half of the 90s were good, the second half not so much. MTV turned to shit in the late '90s and so many of the artists that came up early in the decade were already done for by then. Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, 2Pac, etc

I have 3 stations programmed on my truck's Sirius/XM

80's
90's
Hair Nation.

That's all I need.

Its a sign of getting old. The kids these days will be saying the same about the shit they listen to now, in 10 or 20 years time.
