163,000 Jobs in one month

My guess is an average shit job of $30k a year.
163,000 X $30,000 = $4.9 Billion dollars extra per year.

Which ALL of that money is enough to run the country for about 1/2 of a day. (not to mention that the govt on gets a percentage of that)

Meanwhile the deficit on average during this month rose $120 Billion.

Math doesn't add up for long term success.

163,000 jobs bring in a LOT more than 4.9 billion because the money those people get goes to fund more businesses = more hiring to keep up with demand = more growth. The us economy only needs 100k jobs per month to remain "steady" so Obama's definitely putting in some serious work.

Also, more people entered the workforce (increased unemployment a lil bit) but that's a GOOD thing. Bigger labor market = more opportunity for small businesses that form the backbone of the US economy.

163,000 jobs may have been added, but Obama didn't add them. People have an inflated concept of presidential power over job creation. Obama could add jobs by expanding the federal government, but I have seen statistics indicating it has shrunk during his term.

I will be voting for him come November.

Although its not as if the president is "in charge" of the economy anyway, so you cant really give credit or blame for every monthly movement in figures.

There are complex local and international market forces that are beyond the control of government or anyone that affect change.

But really let's look at this. 163,000 jobs added (we'll go over this number more later). Gotcha. You added a bunch of jobs by adding more regulation and giving more power to the government - obamacare means that the IRS will have had to hire tons more people. So sure we added 163,000 jobs at the cost of $2,000 to every person in america that now has to for health insurance before that didn't. $2,000 more on an already poverty ridden society. But it's ok guys, obama created more jobs!!~11~`111 so more jobs are "supposedly" being created yet the wealth of the average american goes DOWN further and further annually. Hmm?

Now about the numbers. 163,000 jobs created does NOT mean shit.

Meaning the economy is also LOSING 100,000 JOBS PER MONTH. Also - "However, the unemployment rate rose from 8.2% to 8.3% last month, as more people re-entered the workforce but failed to find a job."

Private sector seems to be doing just fine. Despite Obama piggybacking on over regulating everything to shit just to create new jobs? That is not real job creation, Mr. President oh great black man, and savior of the people. No value is added, no service is provided and nothing is created.

And as much as I hate Romney because he too, is just a puppet he puts it very well in saying "This is an extraordinary record of failure."

Obamacare expands Medicaid eligibility. People will be able to earn nearly 40% over the poverty line and still qualify for Medicaid.

They are talking about keeping pace with population growth. Obama would be correct if he said that there are millions of more jobs than when Reagan took office. This is because the US population has grown by 80 million or so since then.
 
Regardless of who was president, unemployment numbers would remain stagnant right now.

Unemployment is staying high because as people are retiring or companies lose employees naturally through attrition, they aren't hiring new people to take their place. Technology has allowed for this. In the long run, this is a good thing. Republicans would just give more money to these companies to hoard. At least Democrats want to put some money in the hands of the people who will spend it alongside the peope who would hoard it.

Look at unemployment by sector. It's mostly factory jobs and other manual labor jobs that are taking the brunt of the hit. Skill and service jobs - healthcare, IT, white collar, etc are all doing great with unemployment in the 3-5% range.

There's a reason Obama has been harping on government backed infrastructure projects. It kills two birds with one stone - we get a fixed/upgraded infrastructure to replace our crumbling network of roads and bridges, which we need anyway, and get to put hundreds of thousands of "shovel jobs" back into the workforce. But rich white guys playing obstructionist politics have gotten in the way of that.

The deficit means little. Governmental debt isn't like consumer debt. We shouldn't be taking austerity measures right now, we should be leveraging the government's position as the nation's largest employer to get out of our current rut. Not to say we shouldn't cut where we can - the absurd "defense" budget for instance - or push some things into the private sector.
