Alexa rank dropping

Does anyone else notice their alexa rank dropping (as in decreasing; getting better) over the last 3-4 days?

I had a site that went from about 73,000 -> 200,000+ after the penguin update, and it now seems to be dropping a few thousand each day.

Doesn't seem to mean much right now but thought I'd check.

nope, mine is consistent.. not that alexa means anything, just another unnecessary stat, focus on your actual traffic.

Is your traffic same as it was last 3-4 days ? If yes then don't care. If no, then fix your SEO. Alexa is not part of game.

It increased a little bit, maybe by 50 visitors/day or so.

There is a rumor that a data refresh occurred for the penguin update on september 6. Might be related, might not.

alexa rank has its uses, much like pagerank. both PR and Alexa rank make preliminary research on a domain/website easy.

domain auctions, buying links, making comments, creating profiles, etc etc etc

Stupid shit like alexa and PR is a good indicator on the quality of a domain in google's eyes. If the domain has a PR5 and a 15,000 alexa rank, it's safe to assume this is a good domain to target without needing to do extra research on the domain.
