Oddly enough, my ranks (which had dropped off about 3-4 months ago) from SEO work that was done about a year ago are back.

Before I started CPATrend, I relied on a network of 25 SEO'd sites. All of which dropped off completely in an update ~ 3 1/2 years ago. So I feel your pain man. On to the next one.
 
In my niche G seems to be favouring authority sites with just 1 page on the topic versus full sites based on the subject but with less overall "authority". Can anyone else confirm?

Also now that im feeling slightly less sorry for myself im starting to think about parasite spam, if googles just turning the dial one way or another how about I introduce them to my penguin? Payback time :)

Been seeing this more frequently as well..
 
Matt Cutts is a silent partner in the BST here, he releases a new update whenever he needs some pocket money for a quick vacation or to go to a cool comic book convention.
 
Very bad developments with my sites too.
It looks like inbound link keywords are hit the hardest and are all fucked. But I even went up for quite a few keys that I didn't specifically target.
 
In one of the niches I promote, almost half of the sites in top 10 have 100% exact keyword anchor for their links. They have moved up a few spots with the last update, and those are really shitty sites in all aspects. Go figure...

What's the difference between that little remark and having something in his signature?

I'm not huge on people directly marketing their services in threads but a self-promo that alludes to sending him a PM isn't the end of the world.

Just out of curiousity...

Those of you who have been getting raped by these updates. What kind of citation and trust scores do you have in Majestic SEO? (you can check it for free)

One thing I've been noticing is that many of the hero to zero sites I've seen dropping out of the serps in my niche have had lopsided citation/trust scores in majestic seo.

Ie a site will have a citation score of 40 with a trust score of 15...

Any site I see with a low trust score, that is on the front page of my serps, I don't expect it to hold its position for too long.

The sites with high trust and authority, and pages ranking on sites like squidoo, youtube, etc, those seem to really stick around and are pretty solid in the serps.
