I disagree. There are plenty of people that can put in ten times the effort and never reach the level others are at when they show up. the good news for those that try is that in most situations, that is all that is required to be at the top of that particular game.
That may be the case for a particular skill set or subject matter where exposure, study, and training is all that is needed, but there is an underlying intelligence difference that is ever present.
