Need a keylogger that won't trigger a virus alert/spyware alert, any recommendations? For legal corporate use.

Isn't there ones you can buy for like monitoring your childrens activities on the computer or something? That may work.

Thanks Bryn,
I tried a few of those packages but they're pretty obvious to a power user. I need something that doesn't even show as a process or has an option to cloak the process name (explorer.exe for example) otherwise the users will know. These are IT guys.

We're trying to find the source of a media leak.

BB_wolfe- I wouldn't suggest the hardware ones. Just now as many features and going to be more trouble the more people you have.

Honestly, I would know what that sucker was if I saw it on any computer. They have been around for a while.

I know most all of the ones you will find readily available on the net will be detected easily by antivirus software. What you would need to do is pay money like 50-100 for someone to take a private keylogger and re-code it for you (my termonology might not be right here but the facts are true)

I'm with nacho on this one...I'm pretty sure they make some really small ones that attach to the keyboard adaptor.

If you're looking into hardware keyloggers, these would probably go unnoticed on a quick glance. They don't necessarily have to be plugged directly into the PS/2 port, you can use an extension cable and with white cables, the 64k mini versions (the white ones at the bottom of the page) could easily be mistaken for something like a coupler or a gender changer.

I worked for a place that used a hardware keylogger on a few desks... everyone knew about them and management thought we didn't. "Hey, this keyboard sucks, I'm gonna steal the one next to me... Hey, wtf is this thing?..."

I used this one for a while: LightLogger - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com

It's really basic, but it works. Install it to a windows directory and re-name the exe file to svchost.exe and the user will never know what it is.
