Proof Aliens Exist ?

It's pure ignorance to think in this endless universe that we are the only living beings, intelligent or otherwise, nuff saud.

I believe that aliens exist - as in we aren't alone in the galaxy/universe/etc.

However, I don't think the government is hiding anything significant. I hold an secret security clearance because I use to do some consulting with the Australian department of defense. Although I didn't get a TS clearance, I know that most of the stuff that is TS the general public wouldn't really be that interested in. The hierarchy goes something like this:

restricted clearance: we are sending troops to iraq
secret clearance: we are sending 400 troops to iraq from units X, Y and Z
TS clearance: the reason we are sending 400 troops is because the americans don't have enough numbers to defend their airfields from an outright assault.

The reason this sort of info doesn't get out is because it's obvious that national (your or someone else's) security could be compromised and people could die. Most people wouldn't care that the Americans couldn't defend the airfield because there's nothing they could do with the information anyway.

IF there was proof aliens existed, I doubt that the people that know could keep their mouth shut for long enough for it to stay a secret. If you had a secret that powerful, and telling it wouldn't get people killed, I know I would at the very least tell my wife and/or best friends, security cleared or not.

I had a TS when I was in the Air Force. Nothing interesting at all, trust me.
Although I wouldn't put it past the gov't to hide the existence of other intelligent life from us.

The problem is TONS of people have come out and said they exist , top air force people , nasa , scientists, ect.

What % of astronauts have to say "We see other worldly craft when we are up there" will it take before people start to agree with them?

The chances of aliens existing is of course pretty high or you could even say inevitable, but when you're talking about aliens who visit our planet in little space ships it's a completely different story.

I think the idea of aliens visiting our planet is pretty ridiculous. I'm not sure but I believe the closest solar system to ours is about 10 light years away, so even if alien spaceships could travel at the speed of light (which scientists believe to be impossible) it would still take them 10 years to even get here in the first place, assuming they inhabit the closest solar system. That's a pretty long time to travel just to observe some stupid humans.

Look at it this way, if aliens are so advanced that they can travel the universe at light speed, why the fuck would they want to even care about us? It's comparable to me walking down the road and looking at some ants, they just don't interest me at all because they are such lesser beings. It seems to me like that's what we would be to these alien characters.

Just my 2 cents.

I think aliens are real. I wrote an article a few months back on some reasons I think aliens exist: Top Ten (10) Reasons Aliens Exist | Truth Control

You really think aliens visit our planet... how come, like, we haven't seen any? You'd think they'd just hop out of their spaceship and confront us, I mean why would they give a fuck? They're bad ass aliens. If they're that advanced they'd just be able to pwn us down if we became a thread, so what's their beef? Sound like a bunch of pussies to me.

Not only do I believe life exists elsewhere, I'm pretty convinced that space is something like the Atlantic ocean. There's probably just tons and tons of different forms of intelligent and less-than intelligent life.

The probability that life exists elsewhere is overwhelming.

Humans have been on earth around 100,000 years.
Earth is about 4 billion years old.
The universe is about 15 billion years old.

Earth is a little late to the game if you think about it. Other species in a galaxy far away could be flying around while we we're still trying to figure out how to make a fire or invent the wheel.

I'm pretty sure not only does intelligent life exist elsewhere, but they've also been advancing for hundreds of thousands of years longer than we have, probably millions.

Look at what we've done in the past 1,000 years. What would a million years of technology do for us? Traveling at the speed of light would probably be a cake walk.

Unfortunately for us we're most likely the retards of the universe as it stands now. We've only been technologically advanced for the last few hundred years.

They visit us and fly around sure. Hundreds of sightings from airforce pilots to southern redneck farmers. Some people say, "well if thats the case why don't they land for a visit and try to make contact with us?" or "How come we haven't seen any then!?"

Imagine driving through the worst ghetto in Compton. Do you ever have the bright idea of stepping outside the car for a meet and greet? hell no.

Compared to them we're still probably really violent. We're just not "there" yet.

Someday.

So you think aliens take thousands of years out of there lives to travel to us and then don't even make themselves apparent? They just float around the planet doing fuck all? It's ridiculous. Assuming aliens have a similar lifespan to ours they would have to colonize a space craft and keep breeding and breeding whilst traveling to us, only to hover around the planet and abduct random rednecks. I can't see why super advanced aliens would be interested in doing this at all.

As an aside, I believe we will work out how to travel faster than light before we work out how to travel at the speed of light.

I dont think the problem here is that they don't want to visit us... but like you said universe is 15 billion years old...so i think its more a matter of timing. Is there anyone out there at this moment? That is more advanced than us? THat hasnt swung by our planet 1000 years ago and marked us as insignificant...

Humans have been around for 100 000... for all we know our lifespan will only be 200,000 years... Species come and go, and in 15 billion years...thats a whole lot of time to miss other life.

But then wouldnt it be cool if the universe is one big giant game of starcraft. Each player/life starting in 1 quadrant at the same time...winner gets to leave the universe... woh.:stonedsmilie:

BTW weren't the "Roswell" documents going to be available to the public after 4x or 5x years? I never heard anything about it anymore.

Just a couple hundred years ago we thought the earth was flat, and look at us now landing on Mars and shit.

I'm sure in at least a couple thousand years we will have the whole speed of light thing figured out.

You're assuming that all species are evened in terms of technology, which isn't the case. With the age of the universe, you have to consider the possibility of other species having a lot more time to develop and advance (100k-1mil years plus).

As for abduction - I don't know. Another story entirely.

Humans have been around for 100 000... for all we know our lifespan will only be 200,000 years... Species come and go, and in 15 billion years...thats a whole lot of time to miss other life.

If we had another 100k years to advance I'm sure we would be able to colonize habitable planets outside of the suns solar system.

I mean, the impossible becomes possible when you talk about that many years of technological advancement. That's a long time.

That's something you and I will probably never know, but for whatever reason they are here.

And I doubt they just travel in their little spaceship for that many years.

Cloaked mother ships FTW, lol.

But why would they not make themselves more apparent? I mean to them we are clearly noobs in both physical and technological development. It would be like us not making ourselves apparent to penguins.

I believe that the likelihood of alien life in our universe is very, very high.

However, I believe that faster than light travel may not be possible. Without FTL travel, we may never encounter these other life forms.

Life may be relatively sparse in our universe, and contact could only be made with luck and/or perseverence (long time spans, "generation ships", etc.)

I don't think there's a huge government conspiracy hiding proof of alien life. I would characterize most governments, including the U.S., as more incompetent and inefficient than evil.

jep, i think that just summed it all up very good. well except for the last part ;P

Shit, there's a new semi art house movie coming out soon... About illegal alien refugees crashing their spaceship into in some refugee camp in South Africa. 6' tall bugs or something. Can't remember the title of it. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Anyways, in all likelihood, I'd say any advanced alien race that is in any way like Humanity as a whole isn't likely to be in touch with us for anything other than as conquest. Honestly stop and think about it. We've got a world filled with resources of the type that they need, and we're pitifully defenceless against them. What would you do?
Worlds like ours are actually somewhat rare, according to the spectrographic readings they're pulling on our neighbouring stars.
Which means that whatever is out there is far more likely to be of completely alien physiology, and therefore psychology.

Sticks: Proxima (Alpha) Centauri is just over 4.2Ly away. Of course, it's highly unlikely to support intelligent life, given the heat. Beta C might.

life can exist in a different time, or a different dimension than we exist.

what makes us think life is elsewhere in the universe when it may be right on top of us but on a different channel we cannot see or comprehend.

also, when the earth dies, as all planets eventually do. life may begin to evolve on a planet that is better equipped to support it with the new changes that have taken place in the universe. it is possible that only one planet can support life in the universe at a given time.

Conquering for land and resources is an old chimpanzee past time.

Resources are only important for species which can't figure out how to make energy from free plentiful sources (light - the sun). We're already starting to figure it out.
