We talk a lot around these parts about not overestimating the intelligence of the people you are marketing to. Most people starting out give the general public a little too much credit.

Just as a reminder, here is a conversation I just had on AIM with a 29 year old female that live here in Southern California who wanted help watching YouTube videos (Flash player was not installed):

Her: its weird cause only my brother can watch youtube

Me: who has the admin account?

Her: my brother

Me: what browser do you use when you use the internet

Her: browser?

Me: the program you use to go to websites

Her: google , yahoo

Me: no, the program you open to GET to google and yahoo etc

Her: avg

Me: dang

Her: what

Me: no what i'm saying is you gotta click something to open up the internet, right?

Me: what is it

Her: haha internet explorer

Her: on the start thingy

I've had people ask me where the 'any' key was.

Some people, you also have to be careful whether or not you tell them to press 'enter' or 'return'.

Nice boobs and funny post. I used to work in customer service for a website company and I was blown away at how dumb people really are. I had that same conversation at least a dozen times. Here's one that I remember another rep had on IM:
Rep: You need to open your browser.
Cust: What's that?
Rep: Ok, click your start button.
Cust: OK.
Rep: What happened?
Cust: Well, my computer turned off, of course.

LOL, she hit the power button on her PC and acted like the rep was retarded for not knowing that would turn off her computer...

When working for an ISP tech support a few years ago.. I had to tell this grandma her 8 letter password 17 times (I counted) before she got it right...

I probably have 200 such examples, but they just make me sad...

Use to work the inbound call center to Tigerdirect and heard all kinds of crazy even though I wasn't in support.
Worst was one old guy mistaking the CD-Rom for a cup holder...seriously...
