As much as I fear death, I would rather die than spend an eternity in hell.
"An eternity in hell" is kind of what life as we know it is (or as close to it as we would be able to appreciate). I don't mean that negatively, but just that us being mortal = suffering for survival = not heaven, thus more like hell. Are you saying you want out of this life? Otherwise I think the eternity in hell part is what happens after you die, not instead.

If there was a way of dying instead of being in a hell situation you wouldn't be able to appreciate the relief anyways, if you could you would still be conscious and thus still in hell...

Well, the first sentence is true in a sense. I mean if you can tell the difference then you are still living, if you can't then it's kind of irrelevent.
