AdTech:SF 2010 Hotels

I'm moving to S.F. in like 3 months, I can't fucking wait. Aside from all the hippies and bums, it's going to fucking own.

I'm going to go to all sorts of events and shit also lurk outside the Googleplex like a weird stalker.

I realize this in no way answered your question, I just wanted to share. My boss who goes to S.F. often for meetings and conferences, he loves the Parc 55. He says it's cheap and luxurious.

I stayed at fairmont last year, you need to take cable car to the conference center (I assume it is at the same place) or a bit of walk, however, it was the shit imo

Adtech SF last year was win, the hills are gay though

I'm probably gonna go to the Intercontinental near the conf center.

what is wrong with most hotels in the US? Why would anybody nowadays still charge $$ for the internet access?..

I've got a place to stay in East Bay (over the bridge), I figure there's not going to be much partying going on compared to Vegas? Or is it preferable to get a hotel anyway?

Edit expired, but is anyone getting the full conference passes or just sticking with the free registration?

If you are a starwood platinum card holder you might still be able to get a room at the W. I just got off the phone with my personal rep & booked a room. But perhaps I called right after they had a cancellation? It's worth a try if you're a starwood-plat member.

not just the US, I've experienced this outside. "Upscale" hotels and resorts do it mostly. Cheap and business-travel oriented places have free internet.

Something is fucked up about Motel 6 and Hampton Inn having free WiFi, but not the Grand-god-damn-Hyatt, Omni, etc.
