How do you deal with Anxiety?



I have a mantra I repeat to myself, it's "you are outside of this" and it works for me. I think it works because anxiety can feel as if it consumes you and surrounds you, and when I try and visualize it "infront" of me, it evaporates. Results may vary.
 
Make a plan and set it in motion if possible. If I'm feeling anxious about something, I look for the trigger and then I develop a plan to "fix" the perceived problem. If I'm worried about trying something new, I consider what would happen if it fails. I then consider all that I can do to ensure that it doesn't fail. I start on that list of things immediately so that I can rest assured I've done my best. If there's nothing else I can do, I sit back and wait and start making a mental list of what I'll immediately start when/if it does actually fail despite my best efforts.

well if you really study the pharma industry, you will see these drugs are more often nothing more than fucking placebos. So you are probably taking your sugar pills and feeling better about yourself. what does that sound like ? a fucking baby that goes happy when you give it candy.

I've seen some people that were addicted to their meds for their whatever mental illnesses. it made me think, whoever started this shit is laughing their asses to the bank.

Mindfulness meditation.

When you dwell on your anxiety, usually you get anxious about being anxious, worry about worrying, and then you get more anxious and so on. That shit turns into an endless cycle that becomes hard to break when you get lost in it.

By meditating regularly, (among other things) you become more aware of your thoughts/feelings as they happen. So when you start getting anxious, you simply notice it, nonjudgmentally, without getting caught up in it (not the same as ignoring it either). You'll still probably have the anxious feelings, but it becomes easier for you to do whatever the fuck you're supposed to be doing.

I've struggled with it for a long while now, and really, just make yourself feel better. Meds are a crutch. Get rid of shitty people in your life, stop boozing so much, work hard, take good breaks.
