On my blog (see sig) every post below my most recent one is showing this annoying retarded symbol before EVERY SINGLE SENTENCE! Does anyone else see this?

Â

Fuckin Âssholes.

Anybody know what's causing it or how to get rid of it? It's rather obnoxious.

Jerxs did you get banned from AIM? haven't seen you on since i was 5 years old and building sand castles.

After/Before... I guess it depends how you look at it... but yeah you're right since they arent at the beginning of paragraphs

Did you somehow use â in your posts?

To much swimming, beer drinking, BBQn to be had, its been so nice out. the only time Im online is to get some work done then Im gone having summer time fun. Im sure that will change shortly though Ive been having a little to much fun.

The answers are typically, “make 10 posts a day under different names, ” or ,”buy a pay per post package from a company like ForumShock”. I’ve done both before. The first is tedious and the second costs money, so neither option is perfect. However, I’ve got an idea for webmasters to quickly populate their new forum with lots of unique content for free.

Yeah, I see it too. I don't know how you fix it though.

I see it as well, but you don't seem to be the only one affected. I've seen it happening on a lot of other site (perhaps a WordPress issue?)

Did you upgrade to v2.2.1?

Are you posting directly from wordpress or are you using another application to post? Possibly a character encoding issue there.

That's awfully weird.

Yay for laziness!

If the character is in the database then here's a sql query to remove it.
Code:
UPDATE wp_posts SET post_content = REPLACE(post_content, '<REPLACE THIS>','');

The  comes up each time you place a space after a period. Never when you end a paragraph or use any other punctuation.

Do you write your posts in a word processing program, like MS Word, then copy and paste them into the "post" box in your blog? If so, try a plain text editor like notepad or something similar.

I don't know the technical description but programs like MS Word insert these goofy characters into pretty much anything that automatically converts things like URLs and the like to a link. Something about code they use to make certain characters and symbols.

I've seen this before, when using word processing programs to write and edit text for a web site, then copy and paste it into a HTML editor. I see a lot of extra code in your source file, like & # 8217; which represents ' and & # 8221; which is for ".

That's what prompted me to ask.

(I must have been writing this while droolingmnky was posting essentially the same thing)

It happens also if you have Frontpage extensions enabled and you use FTP instead. Simple fix, turn off FP extensions and upload via FTP or stop uploading via FTP and use the publish feature in Frontpage.

If you could explain to me how it's possible to FTP mysql queries I would gladly mail you a cookie. (only catch is no outside scripts besides wordpress & plugins)
