I personally recommend "The Right to Win" documentary as well

Just watched the repeat of that Top Gear show and they cut out the Senna tribute due to the Formula 1 archive laws. No surprise, that YouTube video has been took down by the BBC.

Yeah, new Veyron is fucking sick (original LOOKS better I think). 1200BHP and they got it to 267mph.

£1.6 million is a bit steep though..

Yep, not too sure on all the orange detailing on the record breaker. I wonder if any other car will be able to take on its record in the next few years?! Shelby might have a good go.

When did SSC Aero have top spot, I thought it was the Gumpert.

Said on Top Gear buddy. From Wiki anyway...
"The SSC Ultimate Aero is an American-built mid-engine supercar by Shelby SuperCars. Its higher-performance limited production version, the SSC Ultimate Aero TT, is the second fastest production car in the world (behind the 2010 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport), with a recorded speed of 256 mph (411.99 km/h). This speed was achieved during tests on September 13, 2007 in West Richland, Washington, United States and verified by Guinness World Records on October 9, 2007!"

Veyron SS has just hit 267.81mph!

Senna was the ultimate performer. One example of this fact was his opening lap at the European Grand at Donnington. That lap is arguably the best ever driven in a grand prix. It made me want to burn my fire proof underwear -- I mean as an open wheel racer I can tell you unquestionably; that shit was just not possible.
A must read is Chris Hilton's book "Ayrton Senna: The Hard Edge Of Genius".

Senna Lives!

The top gear episode, part 2. Part 1 was blocked. The Veyron took top spot from the Gumpert, not the SSC Aero.

Veyron SS took two records, with the important one being the fastest production car...

Source:

"The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport took the laurel of fastest production car away from Shelby Supercars Ultimate Aero recently. While America had the record since 2007 with a 257 mph top speed, the Super Sport took the record going nearly 11mph more at 267.91. However this weekend revealed the Veyron Super Sport beat another record on the best show about cars in the world—Top Gear. Top Gear’s track is similar to Sebring as part of the track is built from an old runway. The layout was designed by Lotus Cars and is built to test the overall ability of a car. The program takes cars they drive and almost like the Nürburgring, base the performance on the car to how quickly it does a lap. There are two requirements to make the number stick: that the car needs to have road legal tires and have enough ground clearance to go over a speed bump. It took forever for Top Gear to get the original Veyron to drive around the track, but there was barely any waiting for this power lap. When it did, the number was 1:18.4, a good number but not number one that everyone expected it to be. This new Super Sport didn’t disappoint. It completed the lap 1:16.8 seconds beating the Gumpert Apollo’s lap. Ultimate Aero has been put on record as trying to take back the fastest production car record, but maybe they should also work on beating the Bugatti on Top Gear for a one-two punch."
