2 walls in my decision making

I am formulating a plan of action but have run into 2 walls in my decision making
1 is all but decided unless you good fellows have a better alternative
that decision is to join freshdrop to handle my domain name selecting needs.
I will still come up with names on my own but this or a service like this really could expedite things.
so my first question is are better services available for this task? I chose freshdrop from this group:

second wall where to register?
godaddy would be an option but I don't want to pay extra every-time to privatize a name or be forced to register 5 domains at a time to get privacy.

I decided against namecheap because they have recurring whoisguard costs
which is funny because I have seen people on this forum saying that whois privacy is free.
the same with moniker people have said that it was 50¢ a year for whois but at there website
it says $4. I think for a large group of domains that could really eat into costs.
I don't mind paying more but I would like additional service if I am going to pay more money.

I personally would go with domainsite.com but that's because I've been using them for awhile. However, they do have a $0.50 fee for WHOIS protection. Name.com appears to offer WHOIS protection for free.
