301 MFA to Brand site

Let's say that you've already got one or more affiliate sites (10 pages max) that are getting decent traffic and are ranking top 5 for some good keywords.

Problem is, I didn't have the foresight to build a brand and I chose instead to pick a domain name like CheapHandBagsHQ.com.

Will a 301 to a new domain, keeping the content & building further maintain my SE results?

it should... but bing and yahoo doesnt consider 301 as far as i know.
but Big G does.

It depends. I think you should consider making new content on the branded site, once that is out ranking your affiliates sites, slowly swallow them whole. Also, I don't know what that last guy was talking about that bing and yahoo do not consider 301 redirect, but looks like he is banned now.
