Oh they sure offer that but it is fucking pain in ass to cancel the hosting account they attach to it. And if you dont cancel it, they charge you 10 bucks a month for it.

That's right. I did this once with about 20 domains. A year later when it was time to transfer them, it took days and several threats to get them to send me my EPP code. They try to stall you so you have to pay the inflated price.

At the end of the day though, I still think it was worth it. I saved like $120, this was back when the $2.99 offer was going on

This may help some people. Netfirms are giving away .com domain names for 4.95 only.

I was a cj.com affiliate right before the bottom fell out and they cancled ebay and now are officially dead and being resusitated by google. I was a Yahoo Affiliate and my promotion was 1.99 or domain names for new accounts.

Haven't seen anyone beat that.....

Of course Yahoo! is in a world of hurt right now and so is eBay hence the sudden Union their..... Problem is ValueClick shareholders now are mostly ex goog stock holders if not the current holders of both.

So the strangle hold google has over what remenants of a dead industry is pretty much apparent since MSN doesn't seem to give too shits about their search results.... in a secret conspiracy to make us use google or yahoo more...

Ahh well thats the way it is.

1 word ... Moniker.com!

As with all things, cheap is not always better! When you find yourself in a time of need, let me tell you Moniker steps up...unlike many other registrars.

I haven't had any problems with yahoo's $1.99 domains. They say you can only set up one domain per account. But I worked my way around that. All you have to do is set up a different account per domain name.

Just keep in mind that renewals are often much more expensive with those cheap offers, if you calculate a 10 year registration, you are often better off with bulk discounts, e.g. Moniker.

yeah that is true but it also depends on what you are going to do with the domains. if you are going flip them or what ever you can make a profit. hell buy 20 domains spend 40 bucks then sell the domains at 10 a piece. you just made 160 dollars in profit.
