I need some suggestions...

I recently was given 4 huge boxes of baseball cards, many are from the 80's and 90's and almost all are large unopened boxes of cards. I started going through them and saw that many of them are selling for $1 - $10 each card. - Have yet to find any crazy valuable cards.

What do you think I should do with these?

I'm not a sports nut, so I'd rather just sell all of them.

So far I've thought of:
1. Hiring a local sports fan, pay them $8 bucks an hour to just go and list all of the cards up on ebay or similar. - A bit of risk since none of the cards could sell, etc.

2. Sell them in a large batch via ebay - potentially lose out on a good chunk of money.

Any other ideas?

you made 4mil last year and you want to sell 4 boxes full of cards on eBay individually?

in the wise words of my late grandfather, "oh my head... no wonder i drink".

Wait who made 4mil?

Isn't that what he talks about on his FB guide salespage?

Save them for your kid(s).

On a more serious note do this or just chuck 'em out.

Years ago I bought 20,000 hockey cards from this guy for a few grand. Never did anything with them. A few months ago I just tossed them - maybe there were a few worth something now but sorting them, especially if you don't like sports, takes a ton of time and isn't fun.

You did WHAT?!?!?

I offered them first to my parents church - thought maybe the little Sunday school kids would want them or something - but they didn't.

And since none of my Family members did I just said fuck it and threw them out. I never went completely through them but since I bought them for a little over a grand I doubt many of them got valuable over the next 8 years.

The cards that are selling for $1-10 are the unique rare ones. You probably have less then 50 of those. The value of most baseball cards was killed by over production when simply to many got produced - even the older rare ones simply aren't worth much at all without something like an autograph.

You should probably look for a better use of your time - unless you've really been failing at affiliate marketing and need the money. Just sell them all at once.

Edit - this is because they are after 1980 of course - before that in mint condition and that can be another story.

You probably did the right thing - most baseball cards are pretty much worthless now, that's why no one was eager to take them from you.

Edit - I see you said hockey cards now. I don't know the specifics of hockey but I'm guessing it's no different then baseball.

Very few regular cards from then are worth much. If you're looking at ebay prices, make sure you're not looking at graded card prices. Also, many ebay store sellers have continuous buy it nows that are often a lot higher than what they could typically get in a 1 week auction.

Most people that had Ken Griffey Jr. Upper Deck rookie cards (or whatever else is still worth something), didn't store them in boxes, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to get someone more familiar to do a quick scan through them.

You can make a new guide:
How you made 4mil last year and spend them on 4 boxes of baseball cards and banked by making a landing page for each and split tested them on ppv everytime someone goes to fifa.com

Walk into Pawn Shop with cards.

Have them make offer.

Haggle upwards a bit.

Walk out with 4mil + whatever they give you.

I saw you made a small typo there, allow me to correct...
