What's in it that makes it so embarassing? It's like those when people are afraid to go into the sex/relationship section of BN. lol.

Only in 2nd-rate malls and tacked onto coffeeshops in metro areas... They exist now only a an urban hangout, and then only if coffee is served.

I was just at a resort in the dominican last week and like 50% of the women at the pool had the paper version and I'm assuming the other 50% had it on their kindle/ipads.

this shit is everywhere and it is the most god awful attempt at writing. I'm all for anything that gets freaky sex into women's heads, but that shit is like reading a retarded second grader writing with crayons...or me writing anything.

she's gonna get raped in the lawsuit though so it's all good.

Pisses me off how women get mad when I make a fart joke, but then they'll go home and diddle themselves to a book about shoving anal beads up a questionably willing pooper.

women are walking contradictions what do you expect?

they walk out the house dressed like 10 dollar hoes and then get upset when guys cat call them or give them looks.

like that reporter who walked into the jets locker room then got upset when all the men made their remarks .

If they didn't make a big deal about being cat-called, how would they make sure everyone within earshot was aware that people found them attractive?

My wife read one of them, she said it was the most pathetic, worthless attempt at writing she has ever seen, and something about an editor being shot. Somewhere online there is a bitch fest about the books and how poorly they are written, things like she used this phrase 57 times in one book, etc.

Just shows you don't have to have to have a good product to make money.

When I first heard people talking about the series a few months ago, I tried to read them...and it was painfully bad. So bad that I don't even know where to start in ripping it apart, although the bad writing is probably the easiest thing to complain about.

Dark and sophisticated bazillionaire with unknown trauma in his past...sex that kind of dances around being kinky, but the whole point is that she DOESN'T want to accept his preferences and she makes him more vanilla because she is just soooo super different and special...and of course, lots and lots of money that he looooves to spend on her. I didn't think it could get worse than Twilight...but this lady has pulled it off.

That said, it hits all the psychological hot buttons for average women - the "princess" existence, the idea that you can change a man, the idea that you're somehow super special and better than all the other girls, the desire to be protected, the desire to do something kind of kinky or forbidden but in a totally safe and not-so-kinky way since he ultimately pulls back and gives up on that stuff...

I see why it's selling, but it was still really hard to read. I didn't bother with books 2 and 3, but I'm guessing it's more of the same garbage.
