Well I got an enormous list of around 60,000 teens (judging from the way they talk and the sites I collected their emails from) sitting around in aweber.

I'm sure there is money potential (and I am in fact in the middle of a campaign to hook them up with credit cards for further milking) but need some more suggestions.

What to do next?

Those lists are harder to monetize than you think. I've never tried something like Ringtones with a list like that, but back in the day, things like zip or email submits were even hard to push on that crowd. My old site's mailing list had about half a million active, opt-in teen email addresses, and the open rate and click through rates on the email were pretty slim. I'd try things like ringtones, software dowloads (games/smileys/etc.) and the likes, though.

Just sell the fucking list 10-20 times. $200 a pop. More cash than any campaign to teens will rake.

They are actually very responsive (I think). I get about 35% open rate, 25% click through rate and 700 email responses when I send them an email (even more when I ask them to respond back).

I'd prefer to keep them to myself for now - hell, if a few years they'll be in college and worth a lot more. The more I sell em, the more people will pitch them, the less they'll buy from me.

Dont go spamming them with useless shit, act as if you are providing a service. offer "free" stuff. maybe a sale product here and there with a "discount". you gotta have trust between them and they will make you money like no other.

Yeah I definitely wouldn't sell them. Keep trying different offers, stuff they would actually be interested in. Don't just spam them.

I'd opt for a better plan. Startup a forum or a social network. And get them to join it.

Monetize it smartly and let it stay for six months! Then sell the site off, after six months.
Proper use of a teenage list, IMO!

However, there are certain things to be kept in your mind. Forums/SNs will devour a lot of your time. Also, you will need a forehand expertise before delving in the same.

Teenagers... They've got a lot of disposable income, but the number of them with a valid credit card would be pretty low I imagine.

Thinking inside the box, you could easily hock them MySpace templates and iTunes cards.

Just thinking outside the box a little, I'm coming up with using that letter to start a subscriber list for some sort of teen life ezine stuff.
Either a newsletter or a site that's basically just hocks stuff you set up individually. Try and get some of the more unique fashion stores to affiliate. Get some bluelight nightclubs and all ages concerts to promote.
Who was that guy who had the highschool student resource site here? Surely you can work something out there...

Here's out of the box, out of the shop and down the street buying icecream: Try a bit of "cool hunting".
Qualitative information is worth WAY more to marketing companies than the quantitative or aggregate.
And all you need is some decent venn diagrams :P

Less talk and more making money. Nothing interesting has been said in this thread, you just gotta find a way and go for it.
