  1. Be true to yourself.
  2. Make each day your masterpiece.
  3. Help others.
  4. Drink deeply from good books.
  5. Make friendship a fine art.
  6. Build a shelter against a rainy day.
  7. Give thanks for your blessings every day.
How many do you strive to achieve?

More about Wooden, and his calling as a leader and teacher of men.

"Never mistake activity for achievement."
"If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?"
"If you're not making mistakes, then you're not doing anything. I'm positive that a doer makes mistakes."
"Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do."
"Don't measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what you should have accomplished with your ability."
"Success is never final; failure is never fatal. It's courage that counts."

-John Wooden

drink deeply from good books? shit, i'll drink any book that has some strong vodka.

God's been running a rebill as long as organized religion has been around. Opes ain't got nothin' on that hustle.

Not too mention he created half the affiliate jokes in existence:

1. Create Universe
2. Create Human Race
3. ???????
4. Profit

Who does he thank ? Him self ?

I've had this ongoing debate with my husband. (yes this is how relgious debates go with atheists) I say you can still feel thankful and celebrate it without having a Giant Mystical Sprite to be thankful to. I am thoroughly please and grateful for my life and feel immensely thankful about it. Humans aren't emotionally dead just because they don't have a god. I, personally still enjoy celebrating the American November and December holidays which are, essentially, just devoted to thanksgiving and joy.
