A Few Domain Questions

Hi all, I've got a few questions regarding domains.

1. How does having a word prefixed, or suffixed to the domain effect the ranking for that keyword? For example, how negatively will adding buy to a keyword effect it's ranking?

i.e. buywickedfire.com Vs. Wickedfire.com, when the keyword is wickedfire.

2. How well do .tv domains rank? They are fairly new and I haven't seen any information on them. I found a few .tv domains available that I like, but would buy right away if they rank well (exact match).
 


Got to bump this, getting pretty far down, I'm impatient, and I'd like to buy a domain today.

It will not affect anything but may help you rank faster for buy whatever. However, if that company name or domain is trademarked, you may be in trouble later. Having a keyword in your domain does help in the beginning.

They rank the same. Even a .info name can rank if the same effort is placed into it as your closest .com competitor. However, most .info name buyers are just late to the game wanna be's who are unwilling to do what the .com. or .org is willing or has done.

Thanks, I should have already known this.
 
I usually kept my domains .com and in the past I even appended a x to the end of the keyword if necessary. I'd suggest using .com / .net / .org exact keyword match if possible.

That's the order I usually stick to as well, but in this niche/type of site a .tv would better suit it. It will primarily be a video site, embedding videos from YouTube. The only thing holding me back is the $25 price tag.
