[Warning: This is a loooong post. Leave if bored easy. Stay for discussion. ]

First off, yes okay I did I did to that thread title as a bit of a poor attempt at link baiting but fuck it... though I have been on the grass a bit.:rasta:

Anyway... I have some questions that I really would love answered, they are somewhat random but all to do around the theme of making money. And I know there are a lot of smart arses on this forum that see 'noobs' as being stupid, unknowledgable or just sort of those annoying rodents that float round the forum... just remember we all started somewhere!

Oh yeah and you don't have to answer all of these but if you have an opinion on even one of them then go on and share it... I'm sure I wouldn't be the only new guy around here that'd be interested to know.

1) I've been at this for a few years now but only starting to pick up of my determination and motivation. This forum is great, I only found it around a week ago, before that I was a DP lurker but always wished there was a place where you could also get a black hat point of view or whatever. So anyway I have a few sites going, they make a few bucks a week on adsense a day and I make a commision through bong sales here and there on my 420 site, but it's all just pennis and nothing serious. Okay so my question to you is, what technique would you personally suggest to new people to really focus on and why? (ie. Just build up sites and get SEO traffic, or make a bunch of arbi sites and work on getting successful campains going... you get the just?)

2) I don't know about what you guys do or what you did before you started making a lot of dough online but I'm working my ass off at a bloody fast food joint doing the 9-5's and I want to get out of it soo bad. I honestly reckon I can eventually get somewhere with this, because I am passionate about it and regardless of my earnings, I do know a decent amount about web design, graphics, SEO etc... but a lot of the time I get lazy and do half assed jobs or get unmotivated. Hahahaha I'm going to make this a sub-part question now!:

2a- When you started making some decent cash did it make you get more motivated to try to earn more or did you stay lazy? Or were you just full gung-ho super-motivated man all along?

2b- Do people question what you do? Do they admire it or just think it's something dodgy? Your family? Friends? Gold Fish? Whatever!

3) Okay this ones about affiliating and arbi (I refuse to write the full word for fear of spelling it wrong) I am only just testing the waters as we speak but - Dnn dnn dnn *Subquestion time*

3a- Would you say it is the best? As in easiest, fastest, most profitable? As in worthy as fuck for all the the learning/trial and error as opposed to another area?

3b- I have only just developed my first landing page... It's kind of shit I know but it's just to test things out... what's your opinion? Would it work? any construction criticism appreciated.

Okay fourthly, this isn't a question but If anyone else is at the same stage as me or just thinks the same or whatever... PM me and we'll network and stuff. We can exchange blog links or something.

Well that's it from me... Have a nice day WFers.

Haha I just looked back at the post... it is rediculously long isn't it? Oh well.

I am not one of the big ones (still working 9-5, but a nicer job than you, I guess) ... For me, right now it is hunker down time. Learn soem scripting (Perl, PHP) and get to it.

2) ....

I am getting more motivated because I set my goals.

Most just do not understand what I do AT ALL.

Arbi is nice and fast, but also requires a lot of effort in
- research
- tracking
- testing
- tweaking

3b- I have only just developed my first landing page... It's kind of shit I know but it's just to test things out... what's your opinion? Would it work? any construction criticism appreciated.

- well, if you give an URL, we can critique.

PM me, sure.

I'm not making much online as of yet either, and I've been plugging away off and on for several months.

The first website I had was just a personal blog. I'd update that fucker sometimes 2x a day, worked a shit load on getting backlinks, got it to a PR4, and never made more than $2 a day on average. I've abandoned that blog now.

Right now I'm really just focusing on PPC CPA type of stuff. After my experience with the blog, I've got a bad taste in my mouth regarding SEO'd content sites. That's not saying I won't get back into it in the future, but it seems like PPC is the quickest way to get up and running, and I don't see the business model going anywhere anytime soon.

As far as arbi goes, I don't have much experience with it. I've shyed away from it because I was worried that google would start cracking down on it, and they have a little bit. I'm sure people are still doing it and making some cash, but I don't want to wake up one day and have google ban my shit, so for now I'm focusing on CPA.

For me, money is a big motivator. I made a $100 commission on one of my sites the other day. Yesterday I spent around 12 hours working on various projects and researching ideas (Yes, on the 4th). I probably would have spent that time drinking without money as a motivator, so for me personally at this point, I think making a little bit of money is the biggest motivator I can have.

As far as landing pages, I run some UGLY websites, and some of them convert pretty well. I think page design is important, but probably not as important as the sales copy.

Do people question what you do? Do they admire it or just think it's something dodgy? Your family? Friends? Gold Fish? Whatever!

My dad thinks I'm wasting my time. My mom thinks I'll be successful. My friends are about 50/50 between thinking I'm making progress and thinking I'm just turning into a computer nerd. If a hot girl asks I'm a part time "web developer."

Welcome to the forum, and good luck.

Sorry if I don't go through it all, if you read WF you'll find an answer to all that anyway.
My quick suggestion would be that while you look for a mission to get stuck into, you could:

1) find some niche where there's plenty of competition and ads at adwords.
make sure the top bid is good, at least $5

2) make sure this niche won't bring 27 million google results , stay on less than half a million. You can achieve that by finding subniches

3) get a .com domain name about your niche, find some FREE hosting where to host your site (some place where you don't display their ads)

4) get some content for your site, mix and match anything you find till you have same content, but fresh words.

5) put your site up.

This will cost you about $11 per year per site if you hide the whois. Forget about style, forget about ads or graphics, just do the above.

Now that the site is up, it will only "mature" and ripen up.

You can put the ads up, clean the graphics etc at a later stage, for now "claim your cybernetic land".

You'll be surprized what 20 or 30 such sites will do when they are a couple of years old. The ideas of how to monetize them will come naturally.

In the meantime, with no hurry, advertise your sites where they'll take your links.
If you have one template, use same template for all sites. Stability is the main thing, one new page every 2 weeks and Google will begin to love you.

This is what you could do to "have some fun". It is easy, won't require much effort and it'll reward you in the future.
when each site starts bringing $2 a day, 30 sites make $60 a day.
I find that some will bring even $15 a day and many will bring $5.
That's it. Might take 2 years if you are pessimistic.
