Hi there,

I posted my first html5 video yesterday. It was a good experience, I learned a lot about coding and reencoding a video because I had to do it at least 5 times.

Well, to the point. I was thinking if it would be a good idea to just use WebM format on the site. mp4 is way larger, and it's only accepted by Internet Explorer (Opera, Firefox and Chrome accept WebM; while Safari doesn't take any of them), so I don't see the point of having it online, especially when users can download a plugin to watch WebM videos on IE.

What do you think?

I don't think it's a good idea because more then 50% of the internet users use the internet explorer and I think at least 35% of them don't know what a plugin is! :)

Keep it friendly for everyone -> Just my opinion :)

PS: I also think it depends on your website. For example, if its a blog about internet technique - hell yeah - get rid of the .mp4 file because your users are familiar with that.
