How many of you guys actually travel and take advantage of having an internet based business?

Over the last year or so I've worked hard to develop many internet based passive income systems. For the most part, I have achieved and surpassed my goals far beyond my expectations. (My expectations were pretty low)

I wanted freedom from the 9-5 but the truth is, during the come up, I was often working 10-12 hours a day to fine tune my websites.

So now I'm at a point, where I have a relatively "stable" base of internet assets, and the freedom I was seeking. I can walk away and not touch a computer for 6 months, and I am confident that I will continue to generate a strong passive income, barring some kind of unforeseen, catastrophic failure.

Even though I have this, I am still working 10-12 hours every day trying to expand and legitimize. I have a lot of cash sunk into a website that is nearing the final stages of development and preparing for launch. I have good people involved and can take less of a hands on role, but I still like to go in and get my hands dirty..

At this critical time in my smut peddling career, I recently had an opportunity come up. I have a childhood friend that built a pretty interesting life and business for himself. Basically, he puts on music festivals in exotic locales, and he wants a wingman to travel with him and assist during peak season.

Basically the job is an all expense paid 2 month tropical vacation partying like a rockstar in the most literal possible interpretation.

I will probably have limited access to a computer, and constant distraction. I keep telling myself I will be able to find the discipline to put in a few hours everyday, but boy will it be difficult. From a pure business sense, it is definitely a stupid move.

I'm faced with quite the predicament.
Can't get over that nagging feeling of how much progress I could be missing out on by essentially taking two months off at this critical moment.
Having the ability to do stuff like this is the whole reason I got into this game, but I guess my priorities have started to change.

What to do what to do?

Honestly two months is nothing, especially if your 'assets' are stable at the moment and you're not desperate for money.

Do it and have a story to tell in the future, hell if you don't go for it please introduce me to your friend and I'll go :)

That sounds like a pretty sweet deal. Is there no way you can have internet access for at least 2 hours a day? If most of your stuff is on autopilot, that's all you really need.

Is it 2 months or 6 months? 2 months isn't very long at all. If this is something you really want to do, fuck it, you only live once. There will always be ways to make money.

2 months is nothing... I have been on the road for 14 months.

Don't expect to work the first few weeks, maybe even months because it will all be new and exciting, after that you will start to occupy yourself with projects anyway because it will get boring otherwise.

Also avoid doing the tourist thing and switching places every few days, impossible to get any work done that way and it is stupid anyway. Spend a few weeks or if possible even a few months in each place.

I would go but making sure i still can access inet to keep an eye on things few times a week. You dont want to face a panda or some other ugly beast all of a sudden after all those partying - very harsh, unpleasant come down...;)

You should do it!

Just get a VA to monitor your stuff for you. Make them a list and tell them what to do depending on severity. You will probably never get rid of them afterwards, it's nice to have someone being your second pair of eyes. Just make sure they aren't TOO smart, if you know what I mean.

Meh, having limited access to a computer would be a deal breaker in my case.

I mean sure, it's possible to keep an eye on things even without spending a lot of time working but I hate mediocrity. I love what I do, everyone who knows me agrees that I was born to make monies on teh Interwebz and any situation which makes it difficult for me to kick ass represents a deal breaker.

I guess I'm one of the few people who thinks that the 4 hour work week concept sucks. I'm not saying it isn't possible to make shitloads of money by only working 4 hours per week after you've invested a lot of time in your business initially but I don't want to do that. I like what I do and even if/after all of my businesses run like well-oiled machines, I don't want to switch to a 4 hour work week lifestyle.

YMMV, just do what makes you happy.

Is that not exactly what you've been working for?

You only live once bro. In 20 years looking back would you rather remember the experience or wonder what could have been?

No contest IMO.

You've earned it. Enjoy it.

I would rather have to deal with the regret of website trouble over dealing with the regret of not traveling the world, listening to live music, and partying.

You will only need enough time per day or every few days for maintenance, just making sure all your sites are ticking over and there are no problems. Apart from that, you can just leave your sites.

Better to regret the things you did do than the things you didn't.

Get 3g and hookup your laptop via bluetooth (I doubt there's anywhere in the world where there's enough people for a music festival but doesn't have 3g).

You only live once, go for it.

You said you can step away for 6 months and still get paid. See if you can do the 2 months :) And your friend will be paying you aswell ?

All expense paid - flight - luxury accomodation - food - Nightlife + a small cash salary

All I gotta do is hang around a couple hours at night during events to make sure the American kids at our events aren't getting fucked with by local (mexico, etc.) staff/shady security and getting double charged or anything.

He basically just likes having a legit American guy around he can trust to handle if the shit hits the fan. Say a kid takes a flaming shot of 151 and spills it on his face and gets third degree burns and needs to be transported with escort to a new york burn institute with the initial investigation for the lawsuit already in progress less than 1 hour after it happened. (true story)

If I did not have commitments as I do now, I'd go even without the stable income. I did it for a year once before. Best time of my life.

Fuck knows, man up and have a blast with your mate. You might end up walking head first into a much bigger business than your online biz but you sure as hell won't by being weak as piss at home will you?

This.

Better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all.

Have a blast, dude...I wish it was me.

Seriously sex drugs and rock n roll when you are young, I don't regret all my partying when I was young for a second even though it went to shit. Every time I talk to one of my hometown buddies so do we end up rofl talking about the stupid drunk ahit we did. Think about the monies later...

Fucking do it, the adventures you have will be a constant reminder that spending 12 hrs a day in front of a computer screen is such a horrible waste of life. You will probably find that your business grows faster without your micromanaging and that you can actually spend a lot less time looking after things that you thought and still be successfull.

Worst case scenario your whole business bombs but you've had an awesome two months of partying, fucking chicks, visiting exotic locations and getting a tan. You still have all the knowledge and contacts that got you here today no reason why you couldn't build it all again and in half the time as you now know what you are doing.
