I was just adding some banners to a site when i noticed this one...

I'm sure some of you ppl here who run the weight loss blogs know her well!

Did she munch a few acai pills and then start modeling for banners?

That's the German model who supposedly has nothing to do with acai. One of the news reports showed how someone got her pic from istockphoto, then pretty much everyone else started copying the LPs with her in it.

Why are they complaining about abuse? I thought the point of those sites were to give photos away for free? Is it for non-commercial use only or something?

Yeah well if it's on AM blogs for those slinging dem berries then it is commercial use as your explicitly trying to profit from it. At least that's how I understand it.

They're royalty-free, and it seems like they're allowed for commercial use, but for some images, it looks like people clearly starting jacking the photoshopped image rather than paying for the original and photoshopping it themselves.

Also, one of the terms in the agreement when buying an istockphoto image probhilibts the...

use or display any Content that features a model or person in a manner that (i) would lead a reasonable person to think that such person uses or personally endorses any business, product, service, cause, association or other endeavour; or (ii) that depicts such person in a potentially sensitive subject matter, including, but not limited to mental and physical health issues, social issues, sexual or implied sexual activity or preferences, substance abuse, crime, physical or mental abuse or ailments, or any other subject matter that would be reasonably likely to be offensive or unflattering to any person reflected in the Content;

The images are licensed for commercial use. However, you may not resell the image or alter it. The issue here is that the image is being altered.
