Hey guys,

What software do you use to manage your finances? The spreadsheet / hopes and dreams method isn't going to cut it for me for much longer.

There's Quickbooks and Microsoft Money. I found another piece of software called Simply Accounting. . . Any other suggestions?

Thanks

There's also this cool thing called hiring an accountant to do it for you. Best of all, it works all the time and doesn't crash, because M$ didn't make it! Yippy!

Thanks for the offer photoads... Right now I already have a sorta-spreadsheet that does some of the trick, but I'm looking to get a better grip on everything. I'd rather not pop the coin for a full blown accountant for the time being if I can avoid it, and from what I've seen of Quickbooks it looks like it'll do the trick just fine. I just didn't want to go that route if there's something better on the market, but it doesn't look like that's the case.

I've been using QuickBooks for almost 4 years now and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for an easy to use accounting package. It isn't even really all that expensive. It even made bullshit sales tax tracking pretty simple. And I'm not an accountant by trade, but a technical person.

So, yeah, go with QB.

QuickBooks is good for small-biz finances. Quicken for personal finances. PeachTree is their biggest competitor (i think).

I use Quickbooks. It saves me tons of money with my accountant. Basically all the data entry is done. And the fucker just goes over my numbers. So keeps my cost way down. Amazon right now has a deal on QuickBooks Pro 2007 Small Business Financial Software for $126.47.

Use the affiliate link or not. Either way, its a good deal at this price and free shipping too. Enough said.

I use QB as well and I recommend it. After I enter in all of the data, I just send my accountant the file and she does my taxes.
