Adapting Affiliate Products

This is my first post, so please be gentle with me.

Would it be offensive to ask somebody offering an affiliate product if I could improve & adapt one of their products.

The reason I ask is that I've developed a system that basically adds formatted bookmarks, Table of Content links and my own navigation system that I add onto the base of a pdf. This wouldn't be changing any of the content of the pdf.

Could I have your thoughts please?

By fleshlight I'm assuming you're meaning your pdf file.

I was assuming there would be an unlinked TOC but if there isn't it's easy enough to set-up a TOC page, insert it then attach the relevant links

What's to hurt in calling them up and asking? I allow people to add things to my stuff to customize it for their customers if they want, as long as they run it by me first. Typically, I've worked with someone for a while before they ask but that shouldn't deter you.

The worst they can say is "NO! Don't you DARE improve my product!"
