Adbrite traffic waste of money?

Adbrite sucks ass. Adengage is only marginally better. In most cases you are better off getting banner / text ads directly from the site owners. Why give Adbrite or Adengage a cut of the money?

Couldn't agree more Mike -- if you do your homework on the site and its traffic volume, sometimes it may even be in your best interests to throw the site owner a few hundred for a straight link or banner. Not only do you reap the seo benefits BUT you could end up with a hell of a CPC deal on the traffic.

Gotta look at it from the other side too -- I had a free wallpaper site a few years ago that wasn't monetizing very well. I ran adbrite for a month, noted the ads that ran for 2 weeks or more. Removed adbrite, threw up similar campaigns, and made more off the site than ever. Never big numbers but I let the advertisers do my testing while I worked on other projects. :evil_laughter:

IMO, adbrite traffic has typically always sucked unless your offer directly relates to the site itself. Tons of people throw up a poker or dating offer on one of the high traffic video sites and think they're gunna bank like crazy. Why would the video sites be using adbrite in the first place if they could bank themselves? They wouldnt. They make their money from everyone and their brother testing the same damn offers on their site via adbrite.

By the way, who does do?

Interesting. I was just reading through some hacked e-book last night about a guy who claimed to be making $1,000 a day send AdBrite traffic to ClickBank products via direct linking.

I don't know, I've never had good results with AB. I saw some other posts, though, that made it sound like banner ads were the only way to go if you want to get conversions from AB.

How you make a banner ad for a CB product, I don't know. I guess you would have to make your own.

I guess this one goes in the circular file. That's what I get for reading a stupid e-book again.

I think this is one of those things where people will continue to drop money into AB, just like the lotto. I know I am a sucker and keep thinking that one day, I'll figure them out.

If they would target sites better, I think it could work. But that place is over run with warez and proxy sites to be of any use.
