I make some decent money with some of the affiliate programs I run on my website, but AdSense is really NOT converting for me, and it never has. I see some of you post pictures of your AdSense revenue sitting at $200-$500 per day... and I just want to know how you got it so high. Multiple websites, I'm sure. But what else? You all must know something about great ad placement.

For a website like mine, I should be seeing at least a few dollars a day. I think the ad placement is decent. I switch it up and try different things on every page.

My website made some good money last week, and only like .25 cents of it was AdSense. I must be doing something wrong, but I have no idea what.

Anyone have any great ad placement advice?

Lots of traffic. Lots and lots of it. High EPC helps; there are quite a few niches were the EPC really blows.

If that is the site in your sig, in my opinion sites like that tend not to do as well with adsense - people are there to see something funny, and the adsense ads tend not to be targetted to the content, because really there is no specific topic to the content. That's one reason you're not seeing clicks. The other is your placement is not the best. Try a large box with the content flowing around it. Try putting your 468x60 halfway down your list of links, with no borders. Try various different things, and see what works better.

If nothing else works and you're getting lots of hits, then maybe you should forget adsense and use a CPM network like valueclick.

To answer your questions, yes it is the site in my sig.

I'll try blending some of the ads better. I move them around every few days to see what works best. So far the best converting ad has been the one right at the top of the page, and the t-shirt hell ads I blend into the actual links.

Hmm.. I'll try blending Adsense into the content (the ads with no borders) and keep on messing with it until something works. Thanks for the suggestions! :D

How much traffic do you normally get? I assume you get decent pageviews? If your adsense clickthrough is really shit, try using CPM ads, either adsnese or something else.

Are you an affiliate of maxbounty? The have a lot of Win a PS3!, Pizza Survey!, and Free Games offers and those should work pretty well with sites like yours.

I'll check Maxbounty out. Thanks for the info!

Perhaps use the larger rectangle ad format since you will have more adsense links and thus a greater probability of getting a click.

I'll check Maxbounty out. If you got an affiliate link for me, I'll sign up under you.

http://www.wickedfire.com/members/noelkuhl.htmlNoelKuhl I appoligize if I'm jumping on your toes with this one but I've got a really low amount of referrals for my MaxBounty account but if you are still looking to sign up with them you can click here to sign up under me.

Again not trying to step on anyones toes by saying that but no one replied right away so I figured why not.

Too late. I already signed up. But if you know of any other high converting programs, I'm more than happy to sign up under the people who refer me. :D

Hey guys, just wanted to let everyone know, I put the "open air" adsense ads right into the content itself AND IT WORKED.

Got quite a few clicks today. Thanks for the help. :)
