Carlin was one of the most eloquent, eclectic, and quick witted comedians to ever grace the stage.

He's also one of the few comedians who actually got better with age. As he matured, his material matured. That's rare, considering most comedic "artists" plateau mid-way through their career and subsequently lose their edge.

I don't think he got better as a comedian as he aged. He used to be purely a comedian, and as he got older he transitioned more into a guy who shows you all the bullshit that's going around.

Which IMHO is better than being a comedian.
