Warning: I am uneducated in the sense that my spelling/grammar is usually fucked in a way that is embarrassing. I will do the best I can to make this (whatever it is) flow.

Hard to believe its been 1k posts, considering that most of them have been from my BST threads I figure its a good reason to share what I have learned thus far. First I would like to give a big shout out to Shawnhag, Mikeshonobi, and Guerilla. Without a doubt, those three members have helped me the most on my journey up to this point. In my experience, I can’t achieve the things that it is I want to achieve without the help of others along the way; the only way that works is if I am able to do the same in return for someone else.

Where am I right now in regards to making online money? That was the first question I asked myself when I started thinking about this post. The answer I came up with was that “where I am isn’t as important as how I got here and why I got here.”

About a year ago I decided to take my side business on full time. Prior to that I was a labor type worker, doing menial jobs for next to nothing money. I didn’t end up in business for myself because I’m smart or had a great idea, I’m just flat out not employable. I have quit every job Ive ever had, and a large majority resulted in me causing a scene on the way out. Finding a decent paying job was never an issue, but refraining from telling a boss “fuck off, I’m out” was something I have always had trouble with.

With the side biz I had started I knew that if I applied myself full time that I would be able to make a somewhat decent living and not have to answer to anyone but myself. My thought going into it full time was simply that if it failed I could resume my misery answering phones or digging holes for corporate. I quit the paper job and started my grind. When I didn’t have jobs I was papering cars with flyers and buying people in line behind me a Starbucks whatever shitty latte they used to get through the day (I drink black ice coffee). “Hey man, I want to buy your coffee, I’m in a good mood today and wanna hook someone up, what are you having.” – Probably the best marketing dollars I ever spent. My $3 donation opened the door for me to sell while I waited with them for our drinks. Got tons of calls (and sometimes still do) “Hey you bought my _____ a cup of coffee, ____ said you could ______ for me” If I didn’t have work, I was out looking for it.

I got up enough momentum to sell my Dad on loaning me 20k$ for what I thought was a well thought out business plan. I spent 9k$ on a 2006 Scion xB for a few reasons
1) Good on gas
2) Enough space inside to have a work station
3) Get that mother wrapped with some loud “you have to look at me” graphics. I spent 3k$ on the graphics (design/install) and 5k$ on an ecomm website. The rest went into the operating fund. Long story short – the 5k$ I spent on the site was a total waste, and had a pretty serious falling out with the designer (a good friend) over the whole situation.
Now I have a decent amount of local biz and a gaping hole fuck show for a website. That gaping hole drove me into IM and now I am grateful for the “loss”

I knew Shawnhag could help, he has been a friend/mentor for 5 years and has his own biz in a web related field. He told me about WF and many other things. My first dabbling with link building was backlinksgenie and Skyping with Guerilla. Thanks to Shawnhag and Guerilla I have discovered how to make a comfortable living with IM. I distinctly remember my first Skype with Guerilla and him asking me “Do you know what anchor text is” and me replying “yeah, well kinda”.
Word to the wise – If you are new here, follow these suggestions:

1) Don’t start threads titled like “Hey I’m new and need to make money” – If you have to ask why, go ahead and start one and see what happens
2) Read the enlightened members section – Not just one thread, all of them. Eliquid and Blogspotter have some threads in there that changed my life online.
3) Find someone that’s willing to help you and exploit that shit, listen and do what these guys are doing. IMO there is no better form of flattery than duplication. If its working for someone here, it will work for you as long as you are not a complete retard/lazy.

Shawnhag suggested that I start a blog commenting service, so I did. Did I know how to be a provider? No, but I know how to dig through year’s worth of BST threads and figure out what the community is looking/paying for and what they expect. I used a search engine called YouTube (which is how I started the first business I mentioned) and typed in how to use scrapebox. Ran with it from there. I have had some failures in the BST and some serious headaches, try keeping dozens of WF members happy when you are new to IM, but what new business doesn’t have its headaches/upsdowns? If you plan on doing this, communication is key – you have to communicate with the people here, especially if they are spending money with you.

In the meantime I kept grinding on the basics with my failure site and turned it into a money making machine. See pics below – Can you see my life before WF? It should be obvious as to when I found this place.

I figured out how to rank that site for some incredibly tough keywords, just by reading my ass off right here on WF. The info buried in these old threads is literally priceless. Its up to you to dig it up and apply it. So if I could get that site ranked for some 40k exact match phrases then I can do it for some others as well. I started selling SEO, I have a few clients, nothing special, but they are happy and they pay on time.

I am still a total noob at all of this, so much I don’t understand or haven’t found yet. I can only give credit to those of you that have been dropping knowledge here long before I showed up. I am a long way off from consistently having 4 figure days, and a long way off from a 5 figure day, but I know that I can get there with time.

I have nothing original to offer, nothing I have done to make my way up to this point was my own idea. It was simply applying what the senior members have posted.

If you are a broke ass like I was 8 months ago, start reading and then go do it. If you aren’t doing 5k$-10k$ a month in revenue within the next 6 months you should apply for a real job, I’m an uneducated redneck from Virginia – so if I can do it and you can’t, you are completely fucked in life.

There is so much I left out, but I’m starting to ramble so I’m going to end it here. Go hustle.

EDIT: The website that I spent 5k on - I ripped that bitch down and completely re did it myself with no prior knowledge of web design. You can build an awesome site on the cheap if you dig through this forum for knowledge and find the right people to outsource to if its way out of your league. At least that's what I did/ am doing.

well, in my eyes you have failed for one reason: i told you that you should become the first WF member to achieve more itraders than posts, but that title is still up for grabs.

thanks for the shoutouts - you should get an award for "most improved player of the year." TBH - ive never seen a phenomenon such as yourself, being able to not know a god damn thing and less than a year later have multiple passive forms of income coming in, all from your living room.

good job man, you've really gone against literally all the odds. i think it helped that you actually saw a few of us actually doing this IRL and driving nice cars and shit which is really what drove me as well.

I just realized that this post may have just flooded him with Skype requests. Lol

anyone with an ounce of sense realized guerilla was one hell of a resource before you mentioned it. no sarcasm - thanks.

and you too, shawnhag. most of my time here seems like dicking off, but the only reason i'm truly here is to humbly learn from folks like you. thanks for your contributions.

Nice post. Sometimes one of the biggest contributions you can make is give people hope and a reasonable conception of what is possible with some hustle. This thread delivers that.

ANOMOANON wanted to work, which is why he has been successful. Hard work can make up for a lot of other deficiencies like lack of capital or knowledge.

I used to add a lot of people on Skype a few years ago, but I am a lot more discrete now.

Quality post. Keep hustling man.

I should have some work for you soon. Hired that developer and he should be starting by the end of the week. Stoked about finally getting this project straightened out!

For anybody that doesn't know rage9 I highly recommend his services.

i'd like to pick your brain some time in the future. i'm absorbing as much as i can from what's already out there, i wouldn't want to trouble anyone with what's openly available. i see you quoted sykes in your sig & though he's a trader, i've quite a bit of experience in the investment world, that's been my life up to now, perhaps we can exchange ideas. i'd like that quite a bit. anything i can do... regardless, respect to you. you're the type i'd gladly discuss bagel construction with, don't find that much.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm not going to comment on your project, just that I think you're doing a good job learning the ropes but a bit nieve out of the gate. Keep doing what you do, and I think you'll be fine.

I was looking for a success story post April, this seemingly overhyped google "Penguin" update was put in place. Glad to hear you are still doing well! Definitely gave me some motivation. Hopefully I'll launch a test campaign this week :)
