Hey,

I gave adwords site placement a try, and I compiled a large site of sites where the ads could be bought cheaply (i.e anime sites). I decided to use image ads instead of text and I bid 25 cents a click and after a few days im got 3 impressions on one of the ads. So unless people suddenly started paying huge for anime is there any reason my ads shouldn't be showing more often? Might have better luck just bidding CPM but i dont know.

What are your experiences with this?

Well I think your problem is focusing on cheap clicks, if you try and push a car loan or credit check offer on anime sites you aren't going to get very many leads because the two just don't match.

its really hard to get cpc site targeted impressions, you just have to bid higher than normal. And it still doensnt work most of the time ive tried it

I didn't have much success with placement targeting either. I've tried to place an ad on a website from which I'm getting clicks for about $0.70 via content network. I bid $1.20 for the same site (placement targeting) and have seen only very few impressions, no clicks.

Yeah, just switched back to CPM and things are working again...I'm thinking there is some sort of quality score for the content network too.

The Quality Score for determining if a placement-targeted ad will appear on a particular site depends on the campaign's bidding option:

The most important thing with Placements is to bid high, get imps, track the sites you are showing ads on, and kill off the ones that are not performing. Some sites may even get you > 1% CTR (amazing on content network).

Once that happens your bids will go down. google's suggested sites usually eat a turd. Its best to find them yourself using MSN/Yahoo and add them manually. As much as I think arbitrage people can jerk my turkey, sometimes targeting those sites is the best thing. Cheap clicks and sometimes loads of traffic. Usually with arbi sites you can bid shitty and still get imps because google knows their sites suck.

Basically let the arbitrage tool worry about SEO, and you just worry about getting paid.
