Hey guys,

I just setup my first adwords site targetted CPM campaign...

Here are my questions for you pros,

Is there any quality score when bidding CPM on a specific site or is your placement completely based on your bid?

Is there anyway to find out what you need to bid in order for your ads to become active on the selected sites or do you just have to increase your bid until you start seeing traffic?

Finally, how long does it take before these ads become active?

Thanks for the help!

Ryan

-Placement based on bid
-Just bid until you get traffic( im not sure)
-Your ad must be approved before it is active.

Thanks for the quick response.. what is the turn around time on getting your ad approved? And how do you verify that it is active?

24-48 hours normally. Maybe longer on the weekend. And just keep raising your bid to get impressions. There is no special indicator other than "Active", they won't tell you that it's approved. You'll just start getting impresions. I usually start max CPM at $2 with a $5 or $10 daily budget, tweak from there. Also indicate for them to give you traffic as fast as they can as opposed to spread evenly through the day.

What are you using the traffic for? Affiliate or arbitrage?

Gotcha.. I probably started my CPM way too low and put my budget too high... I'll play with it over the next week..

And Im doing affiliate :D

Thx again for the reponses

Setting the budget low is just so you don't get slammed unexpectedly. You'll want to keep it in check until you know your going to have a profitable campaign.
