I'd say. Go. Mingle, schmooze, and attend all of the learning sessions you can. Find people you admire online, see if they are going, and buy them a drink in person. Pick their brain.
non-sequitor: If nothing else I can personally attest that the AffSummit people are some partying fools. I go to Vegas on an annual Vegas. But the one week I went to Vegas for affSum I hit more clubs than I could count. Sometimes 2-3 a night. The merchants buyout sections of clubs and invite all of the affiliates. Everything is free at that point. Some merchants will pay for the ticket & Room for their big affiliates too.
Phillip - I need to seriously rent a plane and get down your way so we can mind meld on some things. Damn spring weather! I am doing this going on 3 years and still consider myself noob.

A word on the networking. There is serious networking at affsumm. They have specific sessions for speed networking and power networking. You will collect so many freakin' business cards it will be insane. People are throwing business cards around. I came back with a stack probably 6 inches high.
As nice as that is try to work on a few quality people/programs that you are interested in. Take the cards from those people and write some good notes on the back about that program/person. 10 good solid relationships are worth more than 100 business cards you collect in a 10 minute speed networking session.
