Just wondering. I know a few AM's that not only look the other way when it comes to Craigs List traffic, they often come out with 'moarrre trrafficc pleasssee!'

So what's the deal? As long as no one complains its all good or do you actively try and sniff out those bring CL traffic to the table?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. As an AM it truly depends on my relationship with my advertiser. 100% of the time - if a pub wants to try CL traffic -- the adv has to be ok with it. If the traffic backs out for the advertiser and they are happy, then yes, I want mooaaarrrr traffic. It's all about transparency and making sure the adv is happy in this case with what they're getting.

Hope this helps.

These are the same AMs who will screw you over 2 months down the road after you have brought "moare traffic," by then you'll be in a bigger hole with them. I'd stay away from CL traffic unless it specifically states allowed, from what I know most advertisers do not want it.

Thanks for the feedback. It pretty much backs what I expected. From my own experience its been 50/50

Some are like 'no way josé', no matter how many hoops the buyer has to jump through between CL and the offer page.

Others pull the wink wink 'carry on' when i ask them if there is any issue with the traffic and specifically state that the advertiser is happy

As and Advertiser, I actively look for Craigslist traffic. It doesn't work for us and is extremely low quality.

Guess it really does depend on what you (the advertiser) are selling/promoting.

For a fact I know that some offers and craigs list go together like your favorite pizza toppings

Do AM's really have relationships with advertisers?

Are talking influential relationships. Yes and no really depends on who your talking to. Did they meet that advertiser at a summit. Or past dealing from another pub. It really all depends on the person.

I would say the higher up you go in the company the better the relationship, no matter what.

It all depends on the advertiser. The offer that I currently help promote(direct from advertiser) welcomes CL traffic.

P.S-If you're looking for an offer that accepts it then PM me and I can help you out.

Such as Credit Reports and fake apartment or job listings?

No.

Whilst those do well for the affiliate (before the complaints come flooding in), they don't do that well for the advertiser as people just cancel the offer / charge back when they discover they've been had

I'm talking about more legit offers where the advertiser is actually selling something that the interested CL punter wants and the matching of both is beneficial for everyone.

Admittedly, they don't come up often but when they do, everyone wins. In those cases i just ask my AM straight out if he's OK with the traffic and as long as the advertiser is happy, its all good.

Some AM's and advertisers don't fuck with it no matter what which I don't get.

There are tons of legit businesses spamming CL to death (not talking about affiliates, bricks and motar businesses) year in year out so that just tells you that the traffic is worth something if pitched the right way + the right offer.

Well dating has always been a niche to work on CL. There are a few others I could name, but currently we really like to shy away from those CL guys. Being an ex-CL person myself, if there is someone who can legitimately iterate how their traffic on CL is not just simple, known world-round techniques for spamming CL, then the possibility to allow it is definitely there. But as for fake jobs, apartments, cars, free shit, then no.

It depends. If your spamming our product yes I care It looks bad on us. If you post occasionaly in bigger citys or respond to ads then we have had some good leads and sales from craigslist.
