Affiliate Text Links

Complete newbie question here that i would appreciate help with.

I want to stick an affiliate link on my site but do it with my wording. The affiliate I want to use has a number of text links with specific wording. Can I change the wording on one of their links and just use that or is that a no no?

To play it safe you can send your wording to your affiliate manager to get approval from the advertiser.

when you read a post about an affiliate company withholding 20 grand in payments to someone changing text, maybe you do worry a little bit. of course changing the text slightly is a lot different than an outright lie.

I can't see there being much problem with modifying it if it is a pay per sale text link. But if you earn per lead it is a little stricter and if you earn per click then it is normally not allowed at all.

Still best to contact your AM though if in doubt.
