Just came across AjaXplorer.info | Free web-based file manager. I implemented it on one of my sites. Seems like a pretty interesting interface so far. You can share docs and files with users, setup their own repository for files and upload files into the repository for customers. They can also upload files to their repository.

Anyone else using a free File / Customer Management tool? I was looking for something cheap or free to allow customers access to reports in a central location.

wow, literally was just looking up ajax/jquery file tree/directory browsers like 4 hours ago. I saw that one. I ended up just writing my own for me and a few other developers in the office to share like..query text files, and things like that. but AjaXplorer would be a definite backup if mine doesnt work. i'd say its pretty good from what i read earlier today.

Ajaxplorer is a piece of shit for the following reasons:

- You can't download any files larger than your memory limit
- You can't easily download multiple files
- Zip functionality doesn't work reliably on Windows servers (not my platform choice, but I've had to use it)
- No way to bookmark or directly link to a specific directory

I'm sure it's good for some things, but I had to use Ajaxplorer recently in a consulting gig & I gave up on it.

Good to know, I really am just looking for something that will allow me to upload client docs and have basic management functionality for the clients to login, upload their own files or download ones we upload for them. The simpler the better in my opinion.

I have it hosted on a linux server and i installed it. I find setting up the users and repositories pretty easy just not sure if this is the best solution for the long run.

Does anyone have suggestions for a free file / basic CMS type add on for clients to manage the files we share with them?
