Say the campaign description in a network says just search traffic is not allowed, and I go ahead and push a ton of volume with email. Then I get a phone call later saying that email actually isn't allowed.

So I've stopped pushing email traffic, I shouldn't be liable for the volume I've already pushed right?

Thanks guys. I've moved the traffic elsewhere and hopefully I'll get paid at the end of the month with no problems.

Get your money mayne! Most companies are pretty good about paying in situations like that even if the advertiser does stiff them. It all depends who you were sending your traffic to and if they are willing to go to bat for you.

Anyone with integrity would give that to you.

It turns out that the advertiser requested a change in the allowed traffic sources today, my AM just wasn't clear about that and they hadn't got round to updating the t&c.

It's ended up better in the end since the new offer I'm running has double the epc of the last!

You are definitely owed the money. If the network ends up eating it because they didn't word their terms correctly then so be it.

A couple of years ago, this is the kind of shit that caused me to snap and save screenshots of a networks offer description before pushing any volume. Haven't done it in a while, but I wasn't about to have my money held.

Screenshots aren't worth much, I know, but at the time it was it was at least some sort of proof. Glad I can trust a few networks now.

Which networks have earned your trust?

Thanks - ss

The network is completely at fault if the description clearly states that the offer did not take search traffic only.

I have affiliates that actually ask me over IM or email all the time if they are authorized to run the offer no matter what the description states. That way they have record of what I said.

Get your AM to approve your traffic source first, make their ass liable, then you have proof and the go ahead.
