Am I going to be able to cash this check?

Even though my invoice clearly said to make the check out to my name, the person wrote the name of my hosting site instead of my name.

My hosting sites name isn't incorporated or trademarked or registered in any kind of way. Am I going to be able to cash this? Should I just put a "/ Kurt Maine" after the hosting name or something?

once they write in the FOR section you can't write on it.
your bank will probably not let you cash it, but it doesn't hurt to try. Just bundle it up with a few other checks you have to cash and hope they just throw it in.

Do you have a bank account set up in that name, or at least a DBA ?

I can, but it took 3 fucking weeks to finally get this one. So..

I don't have a DBA or anything. I guess I'll call the client today and let them know.

I've found it really depends on the bank. I've received cheques made out to my domain name before and I just included them with other cheques when I filled out my deposit slip and it was accepted and there wasn't any problems.

One time my brother cashed a check that was written out to me accidently and it went through, lol.

I'm with Bank of America, and they won't let you deposit a check with a business name on it in a personal account, BUT you *can* deposit a personal check in a business account... Go figure.

So no, at my bank, that wouldn't fly.
