We're supposed to be a bunch of hotshot marketers who think outside the box, right? Check this guy out:

The airport ads you can't miss - CNN.com

If you're too lazy to read, here's the story:

1. 9-11, planes take the towers down.
2. Airport security tightens.
3. Joe (dude in the pic) grumbles while he's in the security line.
4. Joe has a bright idea.
5. Starts a business, finagles terms, calls up the big corps.

... And he's off and running. Now, that's how a marketer thinks. :)

Thats what I want my businesses brand associated with for sure! Long lines, strip searches, nude x-rays and total humiliation! Because when I think of being violated, I think Kyocera.

lol wut? I'm sure most people are in a good mood when going some place warm to spend their vacation or to see their loved ones. Plus it's an original advertising venue, something that's for sure going to get more attention.

+rep, that's some smart thinking

Agreed. I laughed when I saw one of the advertisers on Joe's "advertising network": Amtrak. From the article:

Why Amtrak? It makes perfect sense, when you think about it. If someone is annoyed about the air-travel experience, what better place for Amtrak to appeal for future train business?
I doubt Amtrak thought of it. Joe probably called 'em up, and pitched the idea. As you said, that's some smart thinking.

EDIT: This dude basically created an ad network out of thin air. Then, he convinced major corps to buy space on it. Any of us could have done it. But we didn't. That's what got my attention.
