That average people feel in the company of retards.

Consider that you're a 130+ IQ like me. The average person has an IQ of 100. That is a difference of 30 IQ points. The difference in intelligence between the average person and the intelligent person is therefore as vast as between the average person (100 IQ) and the retard (70 IQ).

Is it fair to have very smart kids in the same school as average kids? It would be the same as putting average kids in a school with retards.

I am sure many of you have had experiences in both your childhood and adult life where you have had to play down your intelligence as to not stand out because your train of thought was simply so much ahead of the average, that you'd fear the reaction of the herd if you let others know just how smart you were.

I feel that smart people are being discriminated against. We don't force Lebron James to play basketball in sunday league pickup games with portly white guys.

Is happiness for the smart person a question of letting the lesser intelligent think that you are the same while selling them acai berries at the same time?

^ I am certifiably not an idiot.

Idiot IQ is below 70 and I am above 130. Therefore -> Not idiot.

The vicious and hateful responses here sort of underline my point that it is best not to prove yourself smarter than the herd.

I've never met someone that claimed to be so smart flaunt it like you.

Usually, those that feel they must flaunt anything, don't really have it.

So... don't get so butthurt. It'll be okay in the morning.

i have an iq of 174. i know that for a fact cause i did true and false test on the internets

I never realized how dumb I was until I read your genius thread. Fuck...I'm stupid. I bet you're like the number one guy in Lumosity training.

Surely you must realize that IQ testing only measures certain abilities, and not everybody is good at mathematics and linguistics. While you may excel in those particular areas, I'm willing to bet that you are a "retard" when it comes to other forms of intelligence.

The Nine Types of Intelligence

5. Interpersonal Intelligence (People Smart”)

Interpersonal intelligence is the ability to understand and interact effectively with others. It involves effective verbal and nonverbal communication, the ability to note distinctions among others, sensitivity to the moods and temperaments of others, and the ability to entertain multiple perspectives. Teachers, social workers, actors, and politicians all exhibit interpersonal intelligence. Young adults with this kind of intelligence are leaders among their peers, are good at communicating, and seem to understand others’ feelings and motives.

"The scale, properly speaking, does not permit the measure of intelligence, because intellectual qualities are not superposable, and therefore cannot be measured as linear surfaces are measured."

— Alfred Binet (Creator of the IQ Tests), 1905

It's obviously not quite the same because people with an average intelligence are still functional while people with less than 80 IQ have difficulties with the basic tasks needed to be members of society. Big difference.

@rusvik I completely agree with you. It is PAINFUL to go to school with or work with people of average intelligence. I've spent 1/2 of my life playing dumb because I get attacked if I don't.

Because IQ can't be bought or faked, most try to invalidate it in some way. It hurts people to admit they're average.
