I need to get a new phone desperately cuz Verizon blows nuts in my area, especially at home, where I get 0 signal now.

So I've narrowed it down to:
AT&T Tilt(TM) Cell Phone - Wireless from AT&T, formerly Cingular or the Iphone.

The main advantage the Tilt has is 3G but the iphone is so damn sexy and has better browsing in terms of rendering the HTML I'd assume.

So just how important is 3G?

I picked up the iPhone last week and I've never been this impressed with a phone before. I've had blackberries, palms, Pocket PCs, and any other smart device you can think of.

The interface is the most intuitive, non-invasive I've ever seen or used on a mobile device. I'm not a huge fan of iTunes, but I'm getting used to it. I had no problems getting used to the keyboard, either. Highly recommended-

The EDGE data network (3G) is ok- but its nowhere close to being hooked up to Wifi.

Whoa-

Just wrote my accolades for the iPhone, along with some pros/cons. Guess it didn't make it through. Too lazy to re-write lol.

iPhone = best phone EVAR.

I am slowly turning in to one of the Apple zombies I always made fun of. Overall, the best handheld device I've ever owned.

Cons - iTunes can be finnicky / EDGE network not as fast as you'd expect / loading contacts is a pain in the ass, as you can't swap SIM cards in or out.

The cons are greatly overshadowed by the many benefits-

I like the iPhone - hate AT&T. Verizon worked perfectly in my basement where my office is, and with AT&T I don't get any service at all. Which means I have to run upstairs 20x a day to make a business call or even text a friend. aside from the shitty service, i do like the phone. Edge network sucks but it's better than nothing and hopefully it improves in the future. so while i love the phone, i'm pretty mixed on the whole situation since i hate AT&t.

Hmm... seems like my posts are getting lost here. Posted a micro-summary and that's gone now too :0

The Iphone uses EDGE which is 2G, not 3G. Cingular 3G uses UMTS technology.

When your new here, your posts will often be approved by a mod before showing. It will dissappear soon. But spam about some ebook and the mods will go apeshit in about .2 seconds.

Go 3G, it'll become huge over here soon.

Check out the Tmobile thing where you can connect to your wifi to use your phone...

Unsupported Browser

Best bet for work-from-home folks, in my opinion. Plus, you can pickup a blackberry curve.

I have T-Mobile and that is cool. I just wish I could hook it up to a "normal" phone because I hate talking on a cell phone at home.

Well, who am I kidding? I just hate talking on the phone. :D

New development:

A friend of mine that works for AT&T said he could get my the Tilt for $200 with a plan. My decision just got much harder to make.
