Checking out my competitors in majestic; I see a few have what it looks like news releases on cbsnews.com, news.yahoo - etc. I've ran numerous PR's with PRweb, never got distribution through these networks. Any advice on how to obtain these links?
Another n00b question (Press releases)

i did the $300 press release on prweb and just noticed the other day that it got syndicated to yahoo. for what its worth.
Considering most n00bs don't have the budget to do legit PRs I'd say not really a n00b question 
However, to get on the bigger sites your PR should be more "legit" and news worthy than just XYZ Company Introduces New Section to site, and the more it appeals to the masses the better.
We are actually working on a service to provide higher-quality PRs that are much more likely to get picked up, distro up to you still. So you could still use it for Tier2 PR but we'd suggest Tier1 distros, and other options we may offer. We are running tests this month, if you have any questions about PRs, Papers, and/or the service shoot me a PM, this won't be for 95% of people here but geared for those with legit sites and businesses (due to cost/time involved).
