any advise on creating landing pages?

I don't have extra money to do it professionally, so I want to try to create a landing page myself. and advise would be appreciated. To start with I'll need a template to make the landing page with? If so, where should I go for some free quality html templates?

Yeah, I'd say go with Blogger or Wordpress. If not, Mason's second link down should be of some help to you.
 
keep the most important elements (like your affiliate link) above the fold and keep the page not too wordy.
