Doing a small media buy on a website.

Was hoping to rotate a few banner ads and track the CTR and CR for each ad.

I just want to give the publisher my ad code to place on their website.

Are there any free solutions out there? If not, anything low cost or with a free trial?

Thanks!

Check out adshuffle.com

They have been recommended alot on here. I used them for 4 separate direct buys in the past and they are easy to get started with. The interface is clean and well organized. Easily rotates banners, will rotate based on a weighted %, and can optimize for eCPM as well.

openx, adjuggler

I don't know anything about adjuggler, but don't use fucking openx.

I read your posts about moving back in with your parents and I'm in a similar position as well.. only... drum roll please... I have never had the chance to move out yet.

If you are ready to hustle and don't have time to waste then DON'T FUCKING USE OPENX. Use something like adshuffle and if your coffee beans really blow up like you want them too then you can upgrade to something better as you start to scale.

Thanks for the recomendation on adshuffle. They were not on my radar. However, I can't seem to find any concrete pricing numbers on their website? Is it free? Why are they asking for a credit card on sign up?

My nuckkka Andy also informed me of the free hosted Google Doubleclick ad server. Looks really good, and it's free until you pass 100MM impressions per month.

As someone who was forced to use OpenX and submitted several patches to OpenX, I would have to second the advice DON'T FUCKING USE OPENX.

Pricing

The ad serving pricing below applies to traditional advertising buys that are not served through the AdShuffle Exchange. There are no ad serving costs for buys that run on the AdShuffle Exchange. Please review your terms and conditions for more details.

Impressions - Pricing is a tiered model based on cost per thousand impressions (CPM) for graphical display ads served by AdShuffle. As you reach a new tier, you will get that price for those impressions served.

Impression Vol.CPM
1 - 500,000,000 = $0.060
500,000,001 - 1,000,000,000 = $0.050
1,000,000,001 - 2,000,000,000 = $0.045
2,000,000,001 + = $0.040

Clicks - Pricing is a flat CPC (cost per click) for campaigns/buys that are tracking click activity. This would include text link, keyword, site serve, and email buys. The cost per click is $0.010.

Pixel Tracking Volume - Pixel Tracking is included in pricing up to 20% of Ad Serving volume per Customer's Advertisers. If the Pixel Tracking volume exceeds 20% of Ad Serving volume, pricing is $0.050 CPM (per 1,000 pixels served) for those that exceed 20%. If there is no ad serving volume within a given month, all pixel tracking volume will be priced at $0.050 CPM.
And the reason they want your CC is if I remember correctly you have to deposit $100 into your account to get started but I could be wrong. Also, its been awhile but I'm pretty sure they give you a free $100 to use on their exchange too.

Did you end up using adshuffle or DFP?

DFP - at least you can be fairly sure it's here to stay & your advertisers will respect the brand
