I'm looking for something free where I can just write down what I need to do each day... simple, right? But I don't know what to get.

doit.im keeps putting my shit on the wrong day for some reason. I figured out Google Calendars now and it's exactly what I need!

Nothing like a good full page diary open on your desk with everything written in. I find it too easy to not login to an online diary. Every night I schedule what I want to do the next day in 1 hour consecutive slots. It helps me stop tasks from slipping and procrastination taking over.

First post..woo..

Mozilla Thunderbird has a calendar plugin that has tasks and events. I just started using it a few days ago in my search for a better organized life. Seems pretty good so far.

Im also trying out another program. Its called MyLife Organized. Its not free but has a 45 day trial and doesn't seem too expensive for what it does.

Google Calendar + Remember The Milk + "App for the milk" Desktop RTM Checklist App + SMS/Skype/AIM notifications = Great system.

Basecamp is an online project manager, but the free version is a light to-do list maker. The interface is super simple and it doesn't suck. I use it to handle projects, but you could very easily just group all the stuff you need to do into a to-do list.

You can create as many to-do lists as you want, and the free version never expires. They've tucked away the link to their free plan below the 3 giant boxes on their sign-up page. Here's the Basecamp home page.

Two things I like for this:
Google calendar for big projects, due dates, etc.
Evernote for just writing notes, and keeping lists.
Google calendar is pretty self explanatory.
Evernote is a piece of software that is basically a notebook/list of notes that syncs to a place online, so you can access it from wherever. You can use the web interface or download the desktop/cell phone app. I've been using it for a few weeks now and I find that it's really convenient.

Get Lightning for Mozilla Thunderbird, I used it for years and think it's superb. Or the free basecamp or even Highrise, depending on how you'll use it, would be good.
