Just wondering if anyone else got hit yesterday by the storms? Our town was hit by a tornado and luckily it was about a half a mile away from us. However, my car is damaged, our house has broken windows, gutter damage and who knows what else. There was 60 - 70 mile per hour winds here with baseball size hail.

thats fucked up, I used to live in Liberty, Mo. Not sure of the proximity though.

Wish you the best.

I am in Central Kansas about 30 minutes from salina and it sucks shit here. I am thinking I need to move to Florida or some shit. I would rather take my chances with hurricanes now.

I'm in Springfield, Mo. Fine here...

Joplin, as you guys probably know, is another story. Just insanely crazy, unlike anything I've ever seen (they're about 60 miles from me).

Yea that was horrible. We only had three people who died here that I know of. One couple were on the road when it hit and a tree fail on them and another person I guess was in a mobile home. Joplin was awful. Reminded me of greensburg here. This is one of the worst seasons in decades.

I was at the same exact intersection as a tornado was forming over my head in Overland Park today at just before noon... That tornado was luckily a small one headed north and did a little amount of damage along the state line heading directly for downtown KC.

I didn't see it (Just monsoon-esque rains) but as I got home my wife frantically showed me on TV how I was lucky to still have an ass...

For the last 3 days we've had tornado sirens go off at least once a day, ever since the big storm that destroyed Joplin. -And that's all you can hear about on any news channel here, even right now.

500 Dead from tornadoes so far this year?! Hurricane seasons kill less... Man this shit sucks I'm speeding up my move to Denver!

Yea we have had a few tornado sirens go off. I had surgery on my ankle Thursday and it was not fun trying to get down stairs yesterday.

That hail is insane! I lived in Olathe KS for 15 years and am glad not to live there now... I never saw a tornado close up but those sirens scared the shit out of me every time.

Damn sorry to hear this. :( We didn't have hail but I know what it's like to have a lot of your shit broken. Best of luck to you and your neighbors 60 miles up the road in Joplin. Absolutely awful what's happening this year.

Yea it sucks. I spent most of yesterday and today getting 3 estimates on my car to be repaired. First was $4400, second was $4600 and the third was $5800. The house hasn't been inspected yet so I have no clue what its going to cost. I have to replace part of the deck, the gutter system in the back and new windows. I don't have house insurance because we were redoing a ton of crap on it so it will all be out of pocket. However, I am really glad I am not in Joplin and its sad that all of those people died, hurt or lost their home/family.

I'm not in the midwest but here in PA it's been absolutely insane over the last month. Each county receives MAYBE 2 tornado warnings a year but this year my county has had 9. So far three have been confirmed and two are being investigated right now. While the destruction here is nowhere near the level of the midwest, I can't believe this weather. Thursday night was the worst. I've NEVER seen clouds so dark in my life, even in pictures or videos. I personally love thunderstorms, but these clouds scared the shit out of me. We ended up having 85 mph straight line wind gusts. I'm really hoping this weather pattern breaks, there's been enough destruction and devastation.
