Moving up to the Cinci area so we can help take care of my wife's dad & seeing if any active WF'ers are in the area.

Didn't see anyting on meetup202 or meetup in general for affiliates but figure there has to be a few out there.

naaa, Famous Dave's is better. Nothing really exciting in Cincinnati. There is a Microcenter if you're into computers, and two sweet Euro-style go kart tracks. There are two horse tracks and 3 casinos within driving distance, if you're into gambling.

Famous Dave's is good, but it's certainly not the best BBQ.

im right near Louisville, could make a trip out of it sometime.

also, none of you niggas seem to know what BBQ is. Famous Daves might be good for chain BBQ, but it ain't for realz BBQ.

Also, Chili in Cincinnati is horrible. Noodles in chili is like a fucking crime, also putting cinnamon in chili is a crime which is something else they do in Cincinnati.

lol, that isn't Cincinnati, that is the suburbs, bra. Union is the younger-wealthy area, with places like Ft. Thomas & Ft. Mitchell being where the old money is at.

meh, yeah I'd rather be downtown but her family is even further outside of town and that's about as far out in the sticks as I'll go.

Just got back from Publix - they had some skyline chili in the freezer section. Interesting... first bite I thought "mmm, no thanks". couple more bites and was starting to dig it. Now near the end of it & not so sure again.

Trying to picture this on noodles w/ beans like the box suggests. Google says there are over 200 chili parlors in the area so maybe it's something that has to grow on me. Or maybe that's why every third person in Charleston is from Ohio.

If there is some good bbq up there I'll survive. Seems to be consensus on Montgomery Inn. Hopefully others - pref hole-in-the-wall type of places.

Definitely down for a meetup though - Louisville & Lex are pretty close.

I'm at the opposite end of the state, 5 hrs away. Hopefully not for much longer though.

Gold Star is probably the best Cincinnati Style Chilli. Their best items have to be chilli chips and cheese, and they have a chilli dip consisting of a bottom layer of sour cream, a layer of chilli, and cheese on top, served with corn chips. It is delicious. If you're moving to Florence, there are plenty of your typical chain restaurants. City BBQ and Famous Daves are nearby, and the closest Montgomery Inn is in Ft. Mitchell I think. If you like pizza, Jet's Pizza on 18 is the 2nd best pizza I've had.

Go to Montgomery Inn Boathouse on the river when it's warm and have a few brews on the "deck" before dinner I'd go ribs or ribs and chicken. Hoffbrauhaus on the other side of the river is a fun place to get a beer in the summer. There's a steak place over there next to hooters i think that was good.

All I know is, motherfuckers in Cincy need to learn what chili is. Their concept of chili is spaghetti with some chili beans on it - weird.

I gotta agree, had something similar once, was all like 'WTF is this?'. They where from Minnesota, I had an LOL moment.

Skyline > Gold Star, Montgomery Inn > than other suggestions. I live in the Dayton area feel sorry for you if you have to move to Ohio. And cinnamon isn't the only thing in the chili, chocolate is also added in and it's BEAST.

and don't get the frozen shit man, you can buy the chili in a can and make your own 3 way or get some ballpark franks and make chili dogs with it.

I am always down for a meet up as well since I am only an hour outside of cincy
